Abstract
フレームレートに応じて、バックライトの光源となる蛍光ランプの駆動周波数が最適な値に設定され得る液晶表示装置を提供する。液晶表示パネル(1)及びバックライト装置(10)を備える液晶表示装置を用いる。液晶表示パネル(1)は、アクティブマトリクス基板(2)、対向基板(3)、液晶層、ゲートドライバ(4)及びデータドライバ(6)を備え、ゲートドライバ(4)はゲートスタートパルス(GSP)が入力されると、水平方向に並ぶアクティブ素子毎にこれらを選択し、データドライバ(6)は、選択されたアクティブ素子にデータを入力する。バックライト装置(10)において、フレームレート検出部(13)は、GSPからフレームレートを検出する。インバータ駆動部(14)は、フレームレートに基づいて設定された周波数の駆動パルスを蛍光ランプ(11)に出力する。
