Abstract
The invention concerns a medical apparatus with massaging and/or vibrating and/or magnetoterapy function, comprising a housing (1), within which there are provided at least a magnet (4), provided with activation means, and/or vibrating (3) and/or massaging (7) means, that can be actuated separately or at the same time with said at least a magnet (4), said apparatus being provided with handle' means (10), with means for activating the different functions and with electric power supply means (2).
Description
MEDICAL APPARATUS WITH MAGNETOTHERAPY FUNCTION IN COMBINATION WITH MASSAGING AND/OR VIBRATING" FUNCTION
The present invention relates to a medical apparatus with massaging and/or vibrating and/or magnetoterapy function.
More specifically, the invention concerns an apparatus of the above kind permitting obtaining at least two of the above mentioned effects, and that can be easily handled by the same patient or by the doctor or by the physiotherapist. As it is well known, different techniques and instruments are used for stimulation of human body tissues and cells.
Massaging or vibrating instruments have been often used and in some cases they are matched in a single apparatus.
Another technique widely used is magnetoterapy. Magnetoterapy is a therapy employing apparatuses generating low intensity and variable frequency magnetic fields.
Since the end of the 19th century, but mainly during the last century, many clinical - therapeutic researches have been carried out in order to scientifically studying possible effects of magnetic fields on living being.
At present, modern magnetoterapy has been recognized at national and international level as a therapy in the allopathy and complementary medicines fields.
Under a physiological point of view, magnetoterapy acts at the cellular level, polarizing cells and equilibrating permeability of cellular membrane, i.e. functions of cell are improved by a higher use of oxygen, with optimum effects for regeneration of everybody cell, and particularly of bone cells. Optimum advantages are further obtained on muscular and tendon fibers. Magnetoterapy further has an optimum miorelaxing effect. This effect can be used for many therapeutic goals, among which:
- inflammatory type disturbs,
- articular disturbs,
- recent traumas, - healing of every kind of ulcers,
- rheumatic deseases,
- treatment of fractures,
- difficulties of deambulation,
- pathologies of elderly persons, regenerating cells.
Magnetoterapy is applied approaching parts of the body to the action field of the magnetic field.
Magnetic flow lines deeply pass through parts, influencing ions within cell. It follows an increase of biologic activity of the part subjected to treatment, with a consequent beneficial effect.
Recent studies have demonstrated that subjecting a magnet to vibration and/or rotation, power of magnetic flow and its action filed increase in function of rotation speed, and in function of power of vibration of the same magnet.
In view of the above, the Applicant has realized an apparatus permitting exploiting peculiarities of magnetoterapy alone or in combination with a massaging and/or vibrating action.
Medial apparatus suggested according to the present invention, to be used by sanitary operators, or for personal care, has been realized for making on the human body, separately or singularly, three benefic actions, and particularly,
• vibrating action,
• magnetoterapy action, with possibility of increasing its effect by rotation and/or vibration of magnets,
• massaging action.
The solution suggested according to the present invention permit including the above mentioned three functions. Furthermore, just in view of peculiarities of magnetoterapy, its combination with vibration and rotating spheres permit exploiting in an optimum way its peculiarities.
It is therefore specific object of the present invention a medical apparatus with massaging and/or vibrating and/or magnetoterapy function, comprising a housing, within which there are provided at least a magnet, provided with activation means, and/or vibrating and/or massaging means, that can be actuated separately or at the same time with said at least a magnet, said apparatus being provided with handle means, with means for activating the different functions and with electric power supply means. Preferably, according to the invention, the apparatus provides, in combination, said at least one magnet, said vibrating means and said
massaging means, each one of said systems being operated alone or in combination each other.
Particularly, according to the invention, it is provided a plurality of magnets. Preferably, according to the invention, said magnets are rotating and/or vibrating magnets.
Still according to the invention, said magnets are activated by an electric motor.
Particularly, it can be provided a single motor for all the magnets, or a single motor for each magnet.
Always according to the invention, said means for activating the different functions can provide means for adjusting rotation speed of said at least one magnet.
Still according to the invention, said electric power supply can be comprised of rechargeable or not rechargeable batteries, or by direct main supply.
Furthermore, according to the invention, said at least one magnet can be removed from the housing, or means are provided for shielding and neutralizing said at least one magnet. Still according to the invention, said vibrating means are activated by an electric motor and by an eccentric or oscillating element.
Furthermore, according to the invention, said massaging means are comprised of a plurality of rotating elements, preferably of spherical elements, provided according to a specific arrangement, and having a shape suitable to the specific use, on a base placed on said apparatus.
Particularly, said base is removably or fixedly coupled with said apparatus.
Still according to the invention, said handle can be removed.
Furthermore, according to the invention, said apparatus can be used coupled with other similar apparatuses, to subject a larger surface to treatment.
Present invention will be now described for illustrative and not limitative purposes according to preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein, figure 1 is a section view of an embodiment of an apparatus according to the invention;
figure 2 is a second section view of the apparatus according to the invention; figure 3 shows a first exemplificative arrangement of the massaging elements; and figure 4 shows a second exemplificative arrangement of massaging elements.
Observing figures of the enclosed drawings, and first figures 1 and 2, it is provided a housing 1 , within which devices for carrying out the functions according to the invention are provided. Apparatus according to the invention, in the embodiment shown in the enclosed figures, is supplied by rechargeable batteries 2, although it is well evident that it is possible providing a direct main supply, or not rechargeable batteries.
Devices for making apparatus according to the invention vibrating are housed within housings 3, usually a motor, coupled with an eccentric element or with an oscillating element.
Magnetoterapy effect is obtained by magnets 4, the rotation of which, in order to increase their efficiency, is obtained by an electric motor 5, directly coupled with magnets 4. However, same magnets can be rotated by a specific motor or by a gearing. Each magnet 4 is laterally separated by the other magnets by a separation 6, comprised of shielding material.
Massaging effect is obtained by massaging elements 7, having different shapes and provided in different numbers, said elements 7 being rotating elements or fixed elements, according to the specific needing.
Said massaging elements 7 are housed within base 8, that can be changed by snapping means 9, 10.
Observing now figures 3 and 4, two embodiments of base 8 provided with massaging elements are shown. Particularly, in figure 3 it is shown an arrangement providing spherical massaging elements 7 suitable for a "general" massage.
Instead, an interchangeable base 8 is represented in figure 4, housing massaging elements 7 comprised of small spheres suitable to massaging treatment of cellulite. As already mentioned, different bases 8 can be provided, with massaging elements 7 suitable to the masseur needing, as well as to the specific body part to be subjected to treatment.
A handle 10 permits handling apparatus according to the invention.
Apparatus according to the invention offers, by suitable switches, possibility of activating the three functions in different combinations: only magnetoterapy, magnetoterapy plus vibration, vibration with massage, ecc ....
Furthermore, vibration and rotation power and speed can be varied by adjusting elements, on the basis of the specific magnetoterapy treatment or on the basis of the needing of the single massaging treatment.
Situations can exist (for example for pregnant women) where it is wished excluding the magnetoterapy effect from a single treatment: in this case, apparatus according to the invention permits removing magnets
4. As an alternative, it is possible providing apparatus with a suitable shielding neutralizing magnets 4.
In order to apply massaging effect, operator apparatus by changeable handle 10, that will be of different shape and dimensions and realized with different materials, according to the needing of the operator.
For example, a classic handle 10 is represented in figure 1 , having projections that, besides promoting its grasping, transmits a massaging action to the operator hand.
In case a larger surface must be subjected to treatment, it is possible coupling a plurality of apparatuses, providing special connections between the same; in this case, apparatuses will be maneuvered by a single suitable handle.
When only the magnetic and/or vibrating effect is wished, apparatus can be applied to various parts of the body by suitable straps (not shown), so that apparatus can operate independently from the operator action. The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
Claims

Medical apparatus with massaging and/or vibrating and/or magnetoterapy function, characterized in that it comprises a housing, within which there are provided at least a magnet, provided with activation means, and/or vibrating and/or massaging means, that can be actuated separately or at the same time with said at least a magnet, said apparatus being provided with handle means, with means for activating the different functions and with electric power supply means.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1 , characterised in that it provides, in combination, said at least one magnet, said vibrating means and said massaging means, each one of said systems being operated alone or in combination each other.
3. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it is provided a plurality of magnets.
4. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said magnets are rotating and/or vibrating magnets.
5. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said magnets are activated by an electric motor.
6. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that it is provided a single motor for all the magnets, or a single motor for each magnet.
7. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said means for activating the different functions provide means for adjusting rotation speed of said at least one magnet.
8. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said electric power supply is comprised of rechargeable or not rechargeable batteries, or by direct main supply.
9. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said at least one magnet is removed from the housing, or means are provided for shielding and neutralizing said at least one magnet.
10. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said vibrating means are activated by an electric motor and by an eccentric or oscillating element.

Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said massaging means are comprised of a plurality of rotating elements, preferably of spherical elements, provided according to a specific arrangement, and having a shape suitable to the specific use, on a base placed on said apparatus.
12. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said base is removably or fixedly coupled with said apparatus.
13. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said handle can be removed.
14. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that said apparatus is used coupled with other similar apparatuses, to subject a larger surface to treatment.
