Abstract

 光検出素子を画素内に有し、表示装置の動作中に光センサ信号を自動的に補正することが可能な表示装置を提供する。センサロウドライバ(5)は、画素領域(1)の光センサへ第1のパターンのセンサ駆動信号を供給することにより、光センサの受光量に応じた光センサ信号を信号処理回路(8)へ出力する第1の動作モードと、第2のパターンのセンサ駆動信号を供給することにより、光センサが黒レベルを検出した場合に相当する補正用の第1の光センサ信号レベルを取得する第2の動作モードと、第3のパターンのセンサ駆動信号を供給することにより、光センサが白レベルを検出した場合に相当する補正用の第2の光センサ信号レベルを取得する第3の動作モードとを有する。信号処理回路(8)は、前記第1および第2の光センサ信号レベルを用いて、第1の動作モード時の光センサ信号を補正する。
