Abstract

 結合層製造工程のマージンが広く、書き込みが容易で、隣接ビット書き込みによって書き換えられにくい、垂直磁気記録媒体を提供する。  垂直磁気記録媒体は、非磁性基板と、非磁性基板上方に形成された軟磁性裏打ち層と、軟磁性裏打ち層上に形成された非磁性中間層と、中間層上に形成された磁気記録層であって、垂直磁気異方性を有する第1の強磁性記録層と、第1の強磁性記録層上に形成され、Pd、Pt、これらの合金のいずれかで形成された結合層と、結合層上に形成され、垂直磁気異方性を有する第2の強磁性記録層を含む磁気記録層と、を有する。
