Abstract

Provided is a direct-lighting backlight apparatus which has high energy efficiency with less periodic illuminance nonuniformity. The direct-lighting backlight apparatus is provided with a plurality of linear light sources, light diffuser plate, and the like. The linear light source has an outer diameter of 5mm-30mm. At least a light outgoing surface or a light incoming surface has an uneven structure at least at one part. The uneven structure, which is in an area where the outer diameter of the linear light source is vertically projected on the light diffuser plate, and the uneven structure, which is in an area having the intermediate position of the adjacent linear light sources at the center and a width the same as the outer diameter of the linear light source, have different shapes.
