Abstract

An electric power steering device having reduced operation noise achieved at low cost. The electric power steering device (1) has a steering column (2) for receiving a steering shaft (15) and also has an electric apparatus (35). A sound absorbing material is provided on the steering column (2) and/or the electronic apparatus (35). The sound absorbing material (55) is fixed by a fixation member (56) to a gear box cover (33) forming the steering column (2).
