Abstract

An installation unit (110A) adapted to be installed on the abdomen of a subject and used to measure living body impedance has electrodes (122) installed on the abdomen in an contacting manner, and the installation unit (110A) also has an elongated belt-like member for supporting the electrodes (122). The belt-like member includes an electrode support member (120) and a second belt member (135) that are substantially not stretchable in the elongated direction of the belt-like member, a first belt member (130) that is stretchable in the elongated direction, and surface fasteners (133, 138) that fix the belt-like member wrapped around the abdomen of the subject with a desired wrap length. A mark (134a) indicating the condition of tension of the first belt member (130) when it is deformed due to its elongation is visibly provided on the first belt member (130). When the installation unit is installed on the abdomen of the subject, the electrodes are pressed under a specific load to the abdomen with good reproducibility.
