Abstract

The present invention is related to an artificial turf comprising at least one layer that comprises an amount of a leachable component, characterized in that the turf further comprises an active material (7) wherein said leachable component can precipitate onto or be adsorbed onto the active material, when the component is dissolved in water, and when said water subsequently comes into contact with said active material, wherein the active material is incorporated in the lower portion of the layer comprising said leachable component, or wherein said active material is incorporated in a layer (4,5,8) which is separate from and located underneath said layer comprising a leachable component.
