Abstract
A brushless motor control device comprises a motor controller for sequentially selecting two phase coils from U, V, and W phase coils and applying predetermined direct voltage between the two selected coils when the brushless motor stops, a current/voltage converting circuit for detecting current flowing in each phase coil and converting the current to a voltage signal, a peak hold circuit for detecting the peak value of the voltage signal generated by the current/voltage converting circuit and holding the peak value, a rotor stop position detecting unit for importing information on the peak value of the voltage signal held by the peak hold circuit and detecting the rotor stop position of the brushless motor based on the information on the peak value of the voltage signal, and a unit for determining a dead point on the rotor stop position which determines whether the present rotor stop position is located on a position corresponding to a position before the dead point on a piston of the engine or near the position or not based on the information on the rotor stop position detected by the rotor stop position detecting unit.
