Abstract

Disclosed is a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (100) comprising a bulb (10), a discharge medium (12) sealed within the bulb (10) and containing a rare gas, an internal electrode (13) arranged within the bulb (10), and an external electrode (15) arranged outside the bulb (10). The discharge medium (12) is a mixed gas of xenon and argon, and the partial pressure ratio of xenon is not less than 95% but not more than 99.5%. This dielectric barrier discharge lamp (100) realizes a high lamp efficiency.
