Abstract

A saddle in which a piezoelectric element is incorporated in order to prevent impairment of appearance, and the incorporated piezoelectric element can pick up sound from each string accurately. The saddle (8) is a saddle (8) for supporting a plurality of strings (4) of a stringed instrument and consists of an external shape member (9) having an inner cavity (12), and piezoelectric elements (15) of the same number as that of the strings (4). An electromagnetic shield (22) is applied to the surface of the cavity (12). Each of the piezoelectric elements (15) is arranged in the cavity (12) at a position corresponding to each string (4). A space is interposed between the piezoelectric elements (15).
