Abstract
The subject matter described herein relates to a rear seat slouch assembly for a vehicle. The rear seat slouch assembly includes a first sliding assembly, a second sliding assembly and a reclining assembly (125) for allowing the fore and aft movement in proportion with the reclining movement of a seat. A sector and a second engaging member based locking assembly is provided 'for selectively locking a cushion seat (110) and a seat backrest (105) at any intermediate positions between the two extreme positions of the seat when a first lever is shifted from an unlock position to a lock position.
Claims
1. A rear seat slouch assembly for a vehicle having a body with a floor panel, said rear seat slouch assembly comprising: a cushion seat (110); a seat backrest (105) pivotally attached on said cushion seat (110); a first sliding assembly and a second sliding assembly disposed on either side of said cushion seat (110), wherein each of said first sliding assembly and said second sliding assembly comprises: a first bracket (305) secured to said floor panel; a first engaging member (405) longitudinally mounted on said first bracket (305), wherein said first engaging member (405) has a plurality of teeth extending along the length of said first bracket (305); a second engaging member (410) movable longitudinally relative to said first engaging member (405), wherein said second engaging member (410) has a plurality of teeth in meshed engagement with said teeth of said first engaging member (405), said second engaging member (410) is attached to seat cushion seat (110); a reclining assembly (125), wherein said reclining assembly (125) comprises: a second bracket (210) secured to said body; a striker rod (205) having a curved profile, wherein said striker rod
(205) is secured to said second bracket (210); characterized in that, two or more locking assembly for jointly locking the sliding of said cushion seat (110) and the reclining of said seat backrest (105) at any intermediate position between two extreme positions of said cushion seat (110) and said seat backrest (105), in such a way said seat backrest (105) reclines simultaneously with the sliding of said cushion seat (110), wherein each of said locking assembly comprises: a sector (530) for locking said second engaging member (410) by selectively meshing said sector (530) with said second engaging member (410); wherein at least one of said locking assembly further comprises a first lever (230) having a lock cam (430), wherein said first lever (230) has a lock position and an unlock position; and wherein each of said locking assembly is adapted to be actuated to lock said cushion seat (110) and said seat backrest (105) when said first lever (230) is shifted from said unlock position to said lock position.
2. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first engaging member (405) is a rack.
3. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said second engaging member (410) is a pinion.
4. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first bracket (305) is substantially 'L' shaped.
5. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a first spring (220) and a second lever, wherein said first spring (220) is connected to said seat backrest (105) and allows said seat backrest (105) to fold down when said second lever is released.
6. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a second spring (225) and said first lever (230), wherein said second spring (215) is connected to said cushion seat (110) and allows said cushion seat
16 (110) to fold up when said first lever (230) is released from said lock position to said unlock position.
7. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said second engaging member (410) of said first sliding assembly is connected to said second engaging member (410) of said second sliding assembly by a shaft
(420).
8. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first bracket (305) is secured to said floor panel by means of fasteners such as nuts and bolts.
9. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said second bracket (210) is secured to said body by means of fasteners such as nuts and bolts.
10. The rear seat slouch assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of bearings (425) is disposed concentrically along said second engaging member (410).
