Mode for the Invention
[38] Now, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[39] FIG. 1 is a vertical sectional view illustrating a vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is an internal see-through view of the vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention, FIG. 3 is a sectional view taken along line A-A of FIG. 1, FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line B-B of FIG. 3, and FIG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating a flap wheel of the vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention.
[40] A vacuum type sweeping machine 100 according to the present invention comprises: a frame unit 9 including a fixing frame 3 having a moving grip 1 mounted at the upper side thereof and a moving wheel 2 mounted at the middle of the lower side thereof and a support frame 6 having a support wheel 4 mounted at the front side thereof and a power cable coiler 5 mounted at the rear side thereof, the fixing frame 3 and the support frame 6 being connected to each other via an up-down bar 8 extendible and contractible by an up-down handle 7 such that the support wheel 4 of the support frame 6 can be moved upward or downward by the extension or contraction of the up- down bar 8; a sweeping unit 13 including a flap wheel 11 axially mounted to a first driven shaft 10 mounted below the fixing frame 3 of the frame unit 9, such that the flap wheel 11 is disposed at the same height of the moving wheel 2, for performing a sweeping operation and a suction duct 12 extending around the flap wheel 11 for widely surrounding the flap wheel 11 such that only a portion of the lower side of the flap wheel 11 is exposed; a vacuum suction unit 25 mounted at the rear side of theupper part of the fixing frame 3 of the frame unit 9, the vacuum suction unit 25 including a dust collection chamber 15 communicating with the suction duct 12 of the sweeping unit 13 via a suction tube 14, the dust collection chamber 15 being located at the lower part of the vacuum suction unit 25, a foreign matter receiving container 16 mounted in the bottom of the dust collection chamber 15 such that the foreign matter receiving container 16 can be withdrawn from and inserted into the dust collection chamber 15 in a drawer fashion, a suction chamber 19 mounted above the dust collection chamber 15 such that the suction chamber 19 communicates with the dust collection chamber 15 via a filter 17, the suction chamber 19 having an outlet hole 18 formed at one side thereof, a discharge chamber 22 mounted at the outside of the
suction chamber 19 such that the discharge chamber 22 communicates with the outlet hole 18, the discharge chamber 22 having a discharge pipe 20 mounted therein and a discharge hole 21 formed at one side thereof, and a suction fan 24 mounted at a second driven shaft 23 mounted in the discharge chamber 22 on the same line as the outlet hole 18; and a drive unit 28 for rotating the first driven shaft 10 and the second driven shaft 23 through a power transmission means 27 by a driving force of a drive motor 26 mounted at the front side of the upper part of the fixing frame 3 of the frame unit 9.
[41] The flap wheel 11 is constructed in a structure in which sandpaper bundles 30 each composed of a plurality of sandpaper sheets 29 are mounted around a wheel shaft 32 such that the sandpaper bundles 30 are arranged while predetermined spaces 31 are disposed between the respective sandpaper bundles 30.
[42] Here, a controller for controlling the operation of the drive unit 28 is not shown; however, it is natural that the controller is provided to control the operation of the drive unit 28.
[43] The vacuum type sweeping machine 100 with the above- stated construction according to the present invention is used to separate foreign matter sticking to a metal surface, make a welded portion smooth, and remove a corroded portion, such that a coating or painting process can be effectively carried out on the metal surface.
[44] In particular, the vacuum type sweeping machine 100 according to the present invention is characterized in that the vacuum type sweeping machine 100 performs a s weeping operation, and, at the same time, collects various kinds of foreign matter or dust generated during the sweeping operation, thereby improving sweeping efficiency, improving working environment, and assisting workers to maintain their health.
[45] As previously described, this is achieved by sweeping the metal surface with the flap wheel 11 of the sweeping unit 13, rotating at high speed by the drive motor 26 of the drive unit 28, while holding the moving grip 1 of the frame unit 9 and freely moving the vacuum type sweeping machine 100, and, at the same time, suctioning foreign matter and dust, generated by the flap wheel 11, into the suction duct 12 through the suction fan 24 of the vacuum suction unit 25, rotating at high speed together with the flap wheel 11 of the sweeping unit 13 by the drive motor 26 of the drive unit 28 and filtering the foreign matter and the dust out to collect the foreign matter and the dust. Now, the operation of the vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention will be described in more detail.
[46] First, when the drive motor 26 of the drive unit 28 is operated through the controller while the vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention is located on a metal surface to be swept, as shown in FIG. 1, a driving force of the drive motor 26 is simultaneously transmitted to the flap wheel 11 and the suction fan 24 through the power transmission means 27, with the result that the flap wheel 11 and
the suction fan 24 are rotated at high speed.
[47] At this time, as shown in FIG. 2, it is required for the sandpaper bundles 30 of the flap wheel 11 to be come into contact with the metal surface to such an extent that the sandpaper bundles 30 are slightly bent so as to sweep the metal surface. This is accomplished by rotating the up-down handle 7, such that the front side of the support frame 6 is moved upward, and therefore, the support wheel 4 is raised upward, to extend the up-down bar 8.
[48] When a worker holds the moving grip 1 of the fixing frame 3 and moving the vacuum type sweeping machine on the metal surface while the support wheel 4 is raised upward, it is possible for the worker to easily and conveniently perform the sweeping operation for a long time.
[49] As the flap wheel 11 rubs the metal surface at high speed, foreign matter sticking to the metal surface is separated from the metal surface, a welded portion is made smooth, and a corroded portion is removed.
[50] At the same time, dust, together with foreign matter removed from the metal surface by the flap wheel 11, is suctioned into the suction tube 14, the dust collection chamber 15, and the suction chamber 19 through the suction duct 12 by a suctionforce of the suction fan 24 together with air. The foreign matter and the dust are filtered out by the filter 17 mounted in the suction chamber 19. Clean air, from which the foreign matter and the dust are removed, passes through the suction chamber 19 and the discharge chamber 22 and is discharged outside through the discharge hole 21.
[51] At this time, the foreign matter and the dust, filtered out by the filter 17, drop into the foreign matter receiving container 16, which is mounted at the bottom of the dust collection chamber 15 in a drawer fashion, by their own weight and is collected in the foreign matter receiving container 16.
[52] Consequently, if foreign matter receiving container 16, in which the foreign matter and the dust are collected, is emptied periodically, it is possible to effectively perform the sweeping operation on the metal surface in a pleasant and clean working environment in which foreign matter or dust does not scatter.
[53] As previously described, the flap wheel 11 is constructed in a structure in which the sandpaper bundles 30 each composed of the sandpaper sheets 29 are mounted around the wheel shaft 32 such that the sandpaper bundles 30 are arranged while the predetermined spaces 31 are disposed between the respective sandpaper bundles 30. Consequently, the contact area between the sandpaper sheets 29 and the metal surface during the sweeping operation increases, the foreign matter and the dust are smoothly discharged through the spaces 31, whereby the sweeping efficiency of the sandpaper sheets 29 is improved, and the service life of the sandpaper sheets 29 is maintained for a long time.
[54] And a propulsive force in the forward direction is naturally generated due to the increase of the contact area between the sandpaper sheets 29 and themetal surface. Consequently, it is possible to easily move the vacuum type sweeping machine according to the present invention by a much less force and to perform the sweeping operation.
[55] Also, it is possible to smoothly drive the flap wheel 11 and the suction fan 24, by virtue of the generation of such a propulsive force, although the output of the drive motor 26 is not great, whereby the sweeping operation is effectively performed.
