Abstract

継代培養された間葉系幹細胞が脂肪分化、骨分化及び軟骨分化の3つの方向に分化する分化能を有し、分化誘導しない限りいずれの分化もしない細胞(多機能間葉系幹細胞)であるか否かを識別することができる間葉系幹細胞の均質性識別方法を提供すること。本発明は、間葉系幹細胞の均質性を決定する方法であって、(a)間葉系幹細胞の母集団から複数のクローンを作製する工程;(b)そのクローン及びその母集団について、所定の遺伝子群に関するmRNA発現強度を決定する工程;(c)工程(b)において決定されたmRNA発現強度と遺伝子群との関係を図式化する工程;および(d)工程(c)において取得された図式から該母集団の均質性を判別する工程、を包含する方法を提供する。
