Abstract

A false wall in particular for sanitary spaces is placed at a distance from a rear wall. The false wall comprises a frame and one or more covering panels 1 having a visible side 12 and a back side 11 that is connected to the frame. The frame comprises at least one. base profile 5 of C-shaped or U-shaped cross section, which base profile is positioned on a floor at a distance from the rear wall. A plastic profile is preferably arranged beneath the floor profile. Furthermore, the frame comprises a wall profile 7 of C-shaped cross section, which wall profile is arranged substantially horizontally on a rear wall. A plurality of upright profiles 9' extend substantially vertically upwards from the base profile and at a top end thereof are connected to the wall profile by means of a connecting part. On the back side, the covering panels are provided with one or more threaded rods 4 extending in the direction of the rear wall, and each of the upright profiles 9 has attached to it a clamping plate 30 with an opening for the threaded rod to be fitted through and tightened by means of a nut 31 or the like.
