Abstract

Disclosed is a pressure medium oil which comprises at least one silicon-containing organic compound having a kinematic viscosity of 2 to 30 mm2/s at 40°C, a viscosity index of 100 or greater and a pour point of -50°C or lower, and which has a freezing pressure of 2.7 GPa or greater at room temperature.
