Abstract
The invention relates to a rotating electric machine, particularly an electric motor or a generator, preferably of a power plant, comprising a rotor (2), a stator (3), and a cooling apparatus (5) which has several cooling ducts (6) that are formed in the stator (3) and are open towards an annular space (7) radially formed between the rotor (2) and the stator (3). In order to increase the cooling effect, at least one separating element (11) which at least fluidically disconnects a radially interior zone (12) from a radially exterior zone (13) is disposed inside the annular space (7). Cooling gas flows into the exterior zone (13) through at least one cooling duct (6), and cooling gas flows out of said exterior zone (13) through at least one cooling duct (6).
