Abstract
The invention relates to an oscillating piston-type internal combustion engine (10) comprising a rotationally symmetrical cylinder chamber which extends concentric to a first shaft and contains at least one piston (18) that can be swiveled back and forth therein. In order to obtain a great degree of compression and high efficiency, the cylinder chamber is subdivided into n partial chambers, a piston can be swiveled back and forth in each partial chamber, each partial chamber is subdivided into two combustion chambers (22, 24) by means of said piston that can be swiveled back and forth therein, and preferably each combustion chamber is connected to a connection that delivers a supercharged gas.
