Abstract
The invention aims at providing a water base metallic ink composition which less suffers from the reaction of metal powder pigment with water and is thus excellent in storage stability. A water base ink composition containing a metal powder pigment and water as the essential components, which further contains at least one phosphoric ester compound selected from among phosphoric esters represented by the general formula (1) and salts thereof: (1) wherein R1 is C6-18 alkyl or alkenyl; R2 is hydrogen or R3(OCH2CH2)n (wherein R3 is C6-18 alkyl or alkenyl); and n is 0 to 3.
