Definitions

  • This invention relates to a method for erecting a drill rig on the seabed. More particularly, it relates to a method for placing a drill rig for the recovery of petroleum on the seabed, the method comprising: placing a base housing for a blow-out preventer, a so-called BOP, on the seabed; placing an intermediate housing on the base housing, the intermediate housing including drilling equipment, and the intermediate housing being designed to receive a utility function housing; placing a drilling housing on the intermediate housing, the drilling housing including pipe-handling equipment and lifting tackle; and connecting a utility function housing to the intermediate housing.
