Description
HORSE MOVEMENT SIMULATOR
The present invention concerns a horse movement simulator.
The invention refers to the field of simulators of mechanical kind electronically controlled for teaching and/or training purposes, in particular in the field of horse racing.
It is known that simulators are systems of mechanical, informatic or more often of an integrated mechanical/informatic kind, trying to reply, i.e. simulate, particular real situations, so to make it possible to test the effects they have on a test sample and the consequent reactions.
In particular, simulators are widely used in designing and testing of plants or devices, but also for teaching and training in an increasing number of fields, such as for example in aeronautics, in which the tests in the field would have very high costs and risks. In sport field, simulators are important not only in teaching or in simulating particular situations difficult to reply in real life, but also in training, in all cases in which it is not possible to apply oneself to a particular sport activity due to unavoidable external causes (such as for example unfavorable weather conditions) or due to problems of different kinds (costs for renting a training field, time needed to get there).
This kind of problems is particularly felt in the field of sport activities to be practiced open air, and in particular in equestrian sport, equestrian centres being often positioned outside the urban centres and thus far from the residences of a number of trainees. In this context is proposed the solution according to the present invention as a solution to the need for having a simulator available in a gymnasium suitable for allowing beginners the carrying out of exercises propedeutical for horse riding and for allowing experts training in order to make the muscles of the legs (femoral biceps, iliac psoas), of the upper and lower abdominal wall, of the lumbar region and of the back muscles stronger.
The aim of the present invention is therefore that of realising a device allowing to obtain the technical results previously described.
A further aim of the invention is that said device can be realised with substantially limited costs, both as far as production costs and management and working costs is concerned.
Not last aim of the invention is that of realising a device being substantially simple, safe and reliable.
It is therefore a specific object of the present invention a horse movement simulator, comprising a support frame, comprised of a fixed portion to which a mobile portion is coupled with a certain possibility to move, the mobile portion supporting a horse back mock-up, and a system for moving said mobile portion, the system being controlled by a computer.
According to the invention, the fixed portion of said support frame is comprised of two bearing stands, resting on a support base and the mobile portion of said support frame is comprised of an horizontal structure of support bars. Preferably, according to the invention, said mobile portion is coupled with said fixed portion through a system made of springs.
Further, according to the present invention said horse back mock-up is preferably comprised of an internal body and an external casing, possibly comprised of two elements separate one from the other, covering at least the sides of said internal body, between the sides of said internal body and said external casing being located a plurality of compression springs, more preferably eight springs for each side.
Further, according to the invention, said simulator can comprise a control panel, comprising all or some of the following devices: three inclinometers, a consolle for inserting and reading data, at least a sensor of the cardio-circulatory activity of the user, connected to said computer for controlling the device, a falcade counter and a light rays projection system, composed of three light for projection on panels.
The present invention will now be described, for illustrative, non limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figuress of the enclosed drawings, in which:
- figure 1 shows a lateral perspective view of a horse movement simulator according to the present invention,
- figure 2 shows a lateral perspective rear view of the simulator of figure 1 ,
- figure 3 shows a transversal section view of one of the two bearing stands of the simulator of figure 1,
- figure 4 shows a lateral view support frame of the simulator of figure 1 , - figure 5 shows a lateral view of the structure of support bars and of the horse back mock-up of the simulator of figure 1,
- figure 6 shows a transversal section view of the horse back mock-up of the simulator of figure 1,
- figure 7 shows the control panel of the simulator of figure 1. Reference being preliminary made to figures 1 and 2, the horse movement simulator according to the present invention is referred to as a whole with the reference number 1 and comprises a support frame 2 essentially comprised of two bearing stands 3, a support base 4 and an horizontal structure of support bars 5 realised between the two bearing stands 3, to which it is coupled with a certain possibility to move. On the support bars 5 a horse back mock-up 6 is leant on which it is further placed a saddle 7.
Lastly, on the device 1 a control panel 8 is present, provided with various kinds of indicators, connected to a computer.
The device 1 further comprises a system (not shown) for driving the movement of the horizontal structure of support bars 5, controlled by said computer, so to simulate the horse gaits, in particular the horse movements of traverse, horizontal pivoting, lateral swaying in all its gaits and cadences.
In particular, with reference to figure 3, the support bars 5 are connected to each of the two bearing stands 3 through the coupling with a supporting pin 9 located on a pair of springs 10 fixed in their turn to the structure of the respective bearing stand 3.
The presence of the springs 10 allow for damping the movements made by the device as a consequence of the action exerted by the system driving the movement of the horizontal structure of support bars 5 and that exerted by the user of the device 1.
With reference to figures 5 and 6, the horse back mock-up 6 is comprised of an internal body 11 and an external casing 12, possibly comprised of two elements separated one from the other, covering at least the sides of said internal body 11. Between the sides of the internal body 11 and the external casing 12 a plurality of compression springs 13 is located, positioned in correspondence of application points 14, in a number of eight for each side in the embodiment shown according to figures 5 and 6, the function of which is that of simulating the horse thoracic flexibility, in order to aid in developing the sensibility and prehensility of the legs of the user of the device.
At last, with reference to figure 7, the control panel 8 comprises three inclinometers 15, for detecting the user's lateral and diagonal front- back equilibrium; a consolle 16 for data input and reading, which, also together with two sensors 17, is connected to the computer for controlling the device, which is suitable for planning training times and modalities on the base of the data (such as for example: sex, body weight, age) the user can input by means of the consolle 16 as well as the data (such as for example the user's cardio-circulatory activity) obtained by the sensors 17 and for processing data (for example the aerobic or anaerobic effort) to be shown on the consolle 16; a falcade counter 18 showing the number of falcades made by the user and the way, aerobic or anaerobic, they were made; and a light rays projection system, composed of three projection lights 19, allowing for projecting on panels the movement the user is making. The device allows for the user to execute the collected, medium working and extended walk; the collected, medium working and extended trot; the piaffe and the passage; the collected, medium working and extended gallop, the half-passes in walk, trot and gallop; shoulder-in in walk and trot; leg-yeld in walk, trot and gallop; flying changes in gallop. The description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention allows to easily comprise how the present invention can achieve the preset purposes.
A further advantage of the invention is that of allowing for specific training for the overall coordination, which is essential for accompanying the movements of the horse.
The device according to the invention further make easier to comprehension of the biomechanics of the horse and the rider, so to develop the consonance with a real horse and allows the rider to improve its riding technique and to achieve the highest competitive levels. The present invention was described for illustrative, non limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that any variation and/or modification can be made by the skilled in the art without escaping the correspondent scope of protection, as defined according to the enclosed claims.
