Abstract

A wind turbine including a supporting mast (1) pivotably connected to the ground and supporting a rotor (4), a hoisting mast (7, 16), a deformable mechanical coupling (9) between the hoisting mast and the supporting mast, a hoisting cable (11) connecting the hoisting mast to the ground, and a control device (15) for varying the length of the cable and thereby selectively lowering and raising the supporting mast. The hoisting mast is freely pivotably mounted relative to the ground separately from the supporting mast and can be folded down into a horizontal position when the supporting mast is folded down.
