Abstract

A fuel cell which generates power by supplying fuel fluid to one electrode out of a pair of electrodes constituting an MEA (1) and supplying oxidizing fluid to the other electrode, at least one of the fuel fluid and the oxidizing fluid being gas, and which comprises a gas supply device for transferring the gas along a channel (10) formed on the surface of the MEA (1) and a drive circuit for driving the gas supply device, wherein the gas supply device is provided on the opposite sides thereof with a diaphragm (4) and a reflection wall with the channel (10) between them, and the drive circuit performs a normal operation control for generating a gas flow from the inlet of the channel (10) to the outlet by means of sound pressure gradient produced in the channel (10) by vibrating the diaphragm (4), and a foreign matter eliminating operation control for removing foreign matters in the channel (10) by changing the vibration mode of the diaphragm(4).
