  • the cutting insert of the present invention includes a major cutting edge part, which has a first major cutting edge and a second major cutting edge, and the minor cutting edge part, which has the first minor cutting edge, the second minor cutting edge and the third minor cutting edge. Accordingly, when cutting the workpiece, cutting resistance can be reduced. Hence, the lifetime of the cutting insert is increased.
  • the first major cutting edge is oriented towards the inside of a major side surface

  • each cutting edge corner part 150 is provided at the boundary between the upper surface 110a and the corresponding corner side surface 140.
  • each inclined corner part 160 is provided at the boundary between the upper surface 110a and the corresponding corner side surface 140.
  • the cutting edge corner parts 150 and the inclined corner parts 160 are constructed such that the upper ends thereof are disposed higher than the upper surface HOa.
  • Each cutting edge corner part 150 includes a corner cutting edge 152 and a corner land surface 154.
  • the inclined corner part 160 includes an inclined surface 162.
  • the corner cutting edge 152 which is mainly used in a cutting process, has a curvature radius Rl ranging from 0.4mm to 2.4D (see, FIG. 4).

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un insert de coupe qui réduit une résistance de coupe lorsqu'un procédé de coupe est conduit. L'insert de coupe comprend une surface supérieure (110a) et une surface inférieure (110b), deux surfaces latérales majeures (120), deux surfaces latérales mineures (130) et des surfaces latérales de coin (140). L'insert de coupe comprend en outre une partie de bordure de coupe majeure (170), qui est formée par une jonction entre chaque surface latérale majeure et chacune de la surface supérieure et de la surface inférieure, et une partie de bord de coupe mineure (180), qui est formée par une jonction entre chaque surface latérale mineure et chacune de la surface supérieure et de la surface inférieure, une partie de coin de bordure de coupe (150), qui est disposée dans chacun des deux coins de chacune des surfaces supérieure et inférieure, et une partie de coin inclinée (160), qui est disposée dans chacun des deux coins restants de chacune des surfaces supérieure et inférieure.
