Abstract

Made of plastic material through a mould and a proper injection process, it consists of a single part ( FIGURE 4 ). This invention is a device to be used for fixing and centralizing structural steel bars used in civil construction without the need of additional tools, with the purpose of simplifying and reducing the time spent in the assembly of the frames of the structural steel bars ( 3 ). In this developed centralizer made of plastic ( FIGURE 4 ), the structural steel bars are fitted by extensions provided with quick couplings ( 2 ), and the structural steels bars are fixed in the plastic centralizer ( FIGURE 4 ). The structural steel bars can be fitted manually in the plastic centralizer ( FIGURE 2 ), exempting the use of any other type of assembly tool, providing time saving and quick and easy assembly.

Description

"STRUCTURAL STEEL BARS CENTRALIZER WITH QUICK COUPLINGS MADE OF PLASTIC FOR CONCRETE BEAMS USED IN THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION."
Made of plastic material through a mould and a proper injection process, it consists of a single part ( FIGURE 4 ). This invention is a device to be used for fixing and centralizing structural steel bars in the concrete beams used in civil construction without the need of additional tools, reducing significantly the time and costs spent in the assembly.
Currently the assembly of the frames is made with annealed wire, and structural steel bars. The structural steel bars are cut and folded in the size and shape needed. First they are folded into four parts of 90° degrees in the shape of a rectangle or a square. After that, the structural steel bars are fitted into the rectangles or squares and a manual binding is made of annealed wire then it is finished with proper tools by means of a twisting and bending process until the end of the wire, resulting in a slow and expensive process.
With the purpose of simplifying and reducing the time spent in the assembly of the frames of the Structural steel bars, this plastic centralizer was developed. ( FIGURE 4) The structural steel bars are fitted in by extensions provided with quick couplings ( FIGURE 5 ), fixed in the plastic centralizer ( FIGURE 1 ). The structural steel bars can be fitted manually in the plastic centralizer, exempting therefore, the use of any other type of tool to assemble the frames, providing a quick and easy assembly.
Made of plastic material through a mould, the centralizer can be produced in any type of injection machine. The raw material can be recycled or virgin and any type of plastic material can be used. If raw recycled material is used for the manufacturing of the plastic centralizer, the production cost can be considerably reduced.
This invention patent does not conflict with the current models produced with structural steel bars already existing in the market called abutment, therefore, the choice between the traditional abutment already existing in the market and the new plastic centralizer provided with quick couplings ( FIGURE 4 ) is entirely optional.
The invention can be better understood through a detailed description, according to the attached figures. FIGURE - 1 shows the frame with several centralizers with all the elements and the fixation point.
FIGURE - 2 shows the structural steel bar ( 3 ) ready to couple into the fitting ( 2) of the structural steel bars centralizer.
FIGURE - 3 shows the centralizer of structural steel bars seen from the lateral perspective of the device.
FIGURE - 4 shows the upper view of the centralizer.
FIGURE - 5 shows the body ( 1 ) and the quick coupling ( 2 ) of the structural steel bars centralizer.

Claims

1. "STRUCTURAL STEEL BARS CENTRALIZER WITH QUICK COUPLINGS MADE OF PLASTIC FOR CONCRETE BEAMS USED IN THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION."!! is made through a mould and a proper injection process, consisting of a single part ( FIGURE 4 ). This invention is a device to be used for fixing and centralizing structural steel bars in the concrete beams used in civil construction, without the use of additional tools for its assembly.
2." STRUCTURAL STEEL BARS CENTRALIZER WITH QUICK COUPLINGS MADE OF PLASTIC FOR CONCRETE BEAMS USED IN THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION." According to claim Number 1 , one characteristic of the centralizer is that it contains several quick couplings ( 2 ), and depending on the size and width of the concrete beam to be constructed, the quick couplings ( 2 ) can change size and width according to the diameter of the structural steel bar used in the civil construction.
3." STRUCTURAL STEEL BARS CENTRALIZER WITH QUICK COUPLINGS MADE OF PLASTIC FOR CONCRETE BEAMS USED IN THE CIVIL CONSTRUCTION" . According to claim number 1 , another characteristic is the fact that the body ( 1 ) can change of size and shape (square, rectangular or round ), depending on the beams used in the civil construction.
