Description

Description
SECURITY DEVICE FOR COMPUTER MONITOR
Technical Field
[1] The present invention disclosed herein relates to a security device, and more particularly, to a security device for a computer monitor capable of changing a currently running program or turning off the computer monitor when another person approaches, thereby improving a user' work security. Background Art
[2] Computers have become indispensable in modern working environments, and are used to perform many tasks. Computers are widely used especially in industrial fields such as data classification, drafting design plans, etc, and its usage continues to increase due to the internet.
[3] Although computers are extensively employed in various industrial fields and are beneficial for everyday life, they have limitations in keeping confidential and private information safe.
[4] Especially, when viewing a computer monitor while working on very important documents or design plans, it may be difficult to notice when someone approaches. Thus, if the user continues working unaware of the third party, confidential information can be compromised. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[5] The present invention provides a security device for a computer monitor capable of maintaining security by sensing when someone approaches the computer monitor, concealing the working contents of the computer monitor when sensing someone approaching, and sensing when someone approaches a predetermined location by installing a sensor at that location (which is not known to others). Technical Solution
[6] Embodiments of the present invention provide a security device for a computer monitor including: a receiver (100) including a connection port (110) connected to a main body (20) of a computer (10), and a signal receiving part (120) receiving a wireless signal; and a signal transmitter (200) converting a signal generated by a sensor (210) into a wireless signal for transmitting it to the signal receiving part (120), the sensor (210) sensing a human body. A control program is installed in the main body (20) to automatically control the computer monitor (15) by the receiver (100).
Advantageous Effects
[7] According to the present invention, computer security can be maintained by sensing when someone approaches a computer monitor, and automatically concealing the working contents on the computer monitor when it is sensed that someone is approaching. Moreover, since a sensor can be installed at a predetermined place unknown to others, it can be sensed that someone is approaching the predetermined place. Brief Description of the Drawings
[8] The accompanying figures are included to provide a further understanding of the present invention, and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification. The drawings illustrate exemplary embodiments of the present invention and, together with the description, serve to explain principles of the present invention. In the figures:
[9] FIG. 1 is a conceptual view of a security device for a computer monitor according to one embodiment of the present invention;
[10] FIG. 2 is a conceptual view of a receiver used in a security device for a computer monitor according to one embodiment of the present invention;
[11] FIG. 3 is a conceptual view of a signal transmitter used in a security device for a computer monitor according to one embodiment of the present invention; and
[12] FIG. 4 is a conceptual view of when a security device for a computer monitor is used according to one embodiment of the present invention. Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention
[13] Hereinafter, an exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described with the accompanying drawings.
[14] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3, the present invention includes a receiver 100 and a signal transmitter 200. The receiver 100 includes a connection port 110 connected to a main body 20 of a computer 10, and a signal receiving part 120 receiving a wireless signal. The signal transmitter 200 converts a signal generated by a sensor 210 into a wireless signal for transmitting it to the signal receiving part 120. The sensor 210 senses a human body. Furthermore, a control program is installed to the main body 20 such that the computer monitor 15 can be automatically controlled by the receiver 100.
[15] The connection port 110 in the receiver 100 is connected to the main body 20 of the computer 10 by using one of a parallel port, a serial port, and a universal serial bus (USB). That is, that the receiver 100 can be connected to the main body 20 through one of them.
[16] When the connection port 110 is connected through the USB, the receiver 100 operates without the need for an external power supply, and when the connection port 110 is connected through the parallel port or the serial port, the receiver 100 includes a battery therein.
[17] The signal receiving part 120 may be manufactured according to various wireless signals. Thus, when the signal receiving part 120 uses an FM or AM radio frequency signal, the receiving part includes a rectifier therein to accurately receive a wireless signal.
[18] The signal receiving part 120 can receive a Bluetooth signal when a wireless signal type is Bluetooth.
[19] Bluetooth is an industrial specification that provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices without the need for cables. Bluetooth is a radio standard and communications protocol designed for a short range, e.g., 10 m, without the need for complicated cables, and provides convenient information exchange/signal exchange capability. Therefore, various products with Bluetooth are currently sold on the market.
[20] The signal receiving part 120 can receives an infrared signal when a wireless signal type is infrared.
[21] The signal transmitter 200 includes a signal processing board 217, a sensor 210 disposed in the signal processing board 217, a sensor window 215 exposing the sensor 210, and a battery 218 supplying a power to the signal processing board 217.
[22] The sensor 210 may detect temperature or movement of a human body through the sensor window 215 by using a magnetic field or a laser.
[23] The signal processing board 217 converts a signal of the sensor 210 into an electric signal, and converts it into an FM or AM radio frequency signal, a Bluetooth signal, or an infrared signal to transmit it into the receiver 100.
[24] The control program includes: recognizing the connection of the receiver 100 and automatically programming it; recognizing a signal that is transmitted into the receiver 100 when the sensor 210 senses a human body; and performing a security function that is configured through the transmitted signal.
[25] The configured security function of the control program includes a mode Ml of turning off the monitor 15, a mode M2 of changing the monitor 15 into a screen saver, a mode M3 of pulling down a running program to the bottom, a mode M4 of beginning another running program, a mode M5 of beginning a new configured program, and a mode M6 of storing the contents of a running program and closing the running program.
[26] Reference numbers 17 and 18 represent a keyboard input device and a mouse input device, respectively.
[27] Hereinafter, a method of using a security device according to one embodiment of the present invention is described as follows.
[28] After the receiver 100 is connected to the main body 20 through the connection port
110, the control program is installed. Then, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the signal transmitter 200 is installed on desirable positions A, B, C, etc. and its sensor window 215 is installed toward a direction where people pass by. [29] After setting one of Ml to M6 in an option of the control program, a user can work on various tasks through the computer 10.
[30] At this point, when people pass by the position where the signal transmitter 200 is installed, the computer monitor 15 is turned off in the mode Ml, changes into a screen saver in the mode M2, pulls down a running program toward the bottom in mode the M3, begins another running program in the mode M4, begins a new configured program in the mode M5, and stores the contents of the running program and terminates it in the mode M6.
[31] As described above, since it is recognized when other people approach a place where work is in progress, confidential and private information in the computer monitor 15 can be protected.
[32] The above-disclosed subject matter is to be considered illustrative, and not restrictive, and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications, enhancements, and other embodiments, which fall within the true spirit and scope of the present invention. Thus, to the maximum extent allowed by law, the scope of the present invention is to be determined by the broadest permissible interpretation of the following claims and their equivalents, and shall not be restricted or limited by the foregoing detailed description.
