Abstract

A display device comprises a first display for displaying an image according to an image signal and a second display for displaying an image by superimposing a display region onto the first display and having a memory property. The display device determines, based on a predetermined condition, the image corresponding to the image signal and selects, based on the determined result, the first display or the second display to display the image. This achieves both saving of electrical power and displaying of a fast changing image, for example, by means of displaying a slowly changing image on the second display to eliminate power for maintaining and illuminating the image and displaying a fast changing image on the first display.
