Description
Description A COOKING RANGE
[0001] The present invention relates to a cooking range that comprises heaters which are enabled to be assembled easily.
[0002] In state of the art implementations, one or more heaters are provided in cooking ranges. The heaters are mounted on the lower casing of the cooking range by welding on to the casing or attaching to helical or leaf springs fastened by screws. In particularly the cooking ranges comprising a glass-ceramic top plate, the heaters should abut against the glass above for preventing heat loss from the glass, however cannot be adhered to the glass since the temperature is too high. Therefore, the heater is pushed against the glass by the force of the spring on the lower casing. In the art, various methods are used in assembling the heater for the purpose of applying homogeneous pressure on the glass, for increasing thermal efficiency, safety and lowering manufacturing costs.
[0003] The object of the present invention is to design a cooking range comprising a glass- ceramic top plate wherein the heater performance is increased.
[0004] The cooking range designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention, described in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a spring with bends that is formed by twisting a steel sheet. The spring simultaneously maintains both functions of securing the heater holder wherein the heater is disposed to the lower plate and pressing thereof to the glass-ceramic upper plate by applying pressure both from below and above the lower plate.
[0005] In an embodiment of the present invention, the heater holder and the spring are produced in one piece.
[0006] A cooking range designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0007] Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a cooking range.
[0008] Figure 2 - is the schematic view of a heater holder and the springs.
[0009] Figure 3 - is the top view of a heater holder and the springs.
[0010] Figure 4 - is the perspective view of a spring.
[0011] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Cooking range
2. Upper plate
3. Heater holder
4. Lower plate
5. Spring
6. , 16. Slit
7. , 17. Bend
[0012] The cooking range (1) comprises an upper plate (2), at least one heater holder (3)
disposed under the upper plate (2), containing a heater therein, a lower plate (4) disposed under the upper plate (2) that forms a closed space wherein the electric elements and connections are situated and a spring (5) connected to the heater holder
(3) that provides the heater holder (3) to be pressed towards the upper plate (2) while the heater holder (3) is mounted on the lower plate (4).
[0013] The cooking range (1) comprises at least two slits (6, 16) arranged on the lower plate
(4) in which the spring (5) is seated. [0014] The spring (5)
- comprises at least two bends (7, 17) formed by bending a single piece metal sheet,
- is attached to the heater (3) from one end and
- the other end passes through the slit (16), then applies pressure on the lower plate (4) from below by twisting.
[0015] Two slits (6, 16) are provided for each spring (5). The spring (5) takes a "W" shape by means of two bends (7, 17). The base (Tl) of the first bend (7) is seated inside the first slit (6). The surfaces (Yl, Y2) that form the bend (7) apply pressure on the sides of the slit (6). Since one of these surfaces (Yl) is fastened to the heater holder (3), the first bend (7) applies pressure on the heater holder (3) in the direction of the upper plate (2). Since the base (Tl) is also seated in the slit (6) at the same time, the movement of the heater holder (3) in the horizontal direction is restricted. The base (T2) of the second bend (17) remains under the lower plate (4). While one of the surfaces (Y3) forming the bend (17) bears on the side of the slit (16), the other one (Y4) applies pressure on the lower plate (4) from below. Since the side (Y4) of the bend (17) remains under the lower panel (4), the spring (5) stays in the slit (6), hence the heater holder (3) is fastened to the lower plate (4), and the movements thereof in the horizontal and vertical directions are restricted.
[0016] The spring (5) simultaneously maintains both functions of securing the heater holder (3) and pressing thereof towards the upper plate (2) by applying pressure on both from below and above the lower plate (4).
[0017] Due to the configuration of the spring (5), the heater holder (3) is pressed towards the upper plate (2) by applying force thereon, both the contact of the heater holder (3) with the upper plate (2) is increased, and also the heater holder (3) is secured on the lower plate (4).
[0018] In an embodiment of the present invention, the heater holder (3) and the spring (5) are produced together in one piece.
[0019] By means of the present invention, in cooking ranges (1) with an upper plate (2) made of glass-ceramic material, the assembly of the heater holders (3) is made easy.
