Abstract

The invention relates to a production unit for components, particularly for body components of motor vehicles. In order to be able to time-effectively work on different component types in said production unit within a small space, different component-typical component holders (8, 9, 10) are stored in a tower stack (1), which can be removed from the tower stack (1) by means of a transfer device (3) and can be fed to a workstation (2). Component holders that are no longer required are taken from the workstation (2) and transferred to the tower stack (1) by means of the transfer device (3). During processing in the workstation (2), the transfer device (3) effects the change of the component-typical component holders (8, 9, 10) such that the changeover time is short. The space requirement is small due to the tower stack (1).
