Abstract
The present invention relates to a washer/dryer (1) comprising a washing tub (2) wherein laundry to be washed is emplaced, and one or more heaters (3) for heating the water to be used in the washing process.
Description
Description A WASHER/DRYER
[0001] The present invention relates to a washer/dryer of which the washing performance is enhanced.
[0002] The operation performance of washer/dryers particularly washing machines varies depending on the environmental conditions therein that are operated. The values pertaining to parameters determined as a result of various tests conducted by the producer can change depending on the conditions of the environment in which the machine will be used and this adversely affects the washing performance.
[0003] Particularly the voltage values from the electric network and the temperature of water from the water supply can vary momentarily or periodically depending on the geographic locations, seasonal conditions and other similar conditions. The decreases in the network voltage or the temperature of the water supply affect the operation duration of heaters that heat the water to be used in the washing process. Thus it increases the time period for water to reach the desired temperature and adversely affects the washing performance.
[0004] In cases when the desired temperature cannot be attained due to momentary or continuous decreases that may occur in the network voltage or the temperature of the water received from the water supply, the substances that provide foaming in the detergent, cleaning agent etc. are activated more. This condition results in generation of more foaming, which adversely affects the washing performance and also discharging the generated foam from the machine becomes harder.
[0005] In the state of the art Japanese Patent Application No JP2000237488, the rotation period of the motor is changed according to a signal from a voltage detection means detecting power source voltage, the signal of a temperature detection means detecting temperature, or set water level.
[0006] The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washer/dryer that is affected minimally from the variations in temperature of water received from the water supply and changes in the network voltage.
[0007] The washer/dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a control unit that changes the heating duration and the durations of washing steps according to variations in the temperature of the water supply or changes in the network voltage.
[0008] The heating duration and/or the durations of the washing steps are changed so that the momentary and/or continuous decreases that may occur in the network voltage do not prevent reaching the target temperature in the heating time period determined by the producer.
[0009] The heating duration and/or the durations of the washing steps are changed so that the momentary and/or continuous decreases that may occur in the temperature of the
water supply do not prevent reaching the target temperature in the heating time period determined by the producer.
[0010] By means of the present invention, in cases when the target temperature cannot be attained in the time period determined by the producer depending on variations in the network voltage and/or the water supply temperature, the substances that provide foaming in the detergent, cleaning agent etc. are prevented from staying at temperatures wherein they are activated more.
[0011] A washer/dryer realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0012] Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a washer/dryer.
[0013] The parts illustrated in the figure are numbered as follows:
1. Washer/dryer
2. Washing tub
3. Heater
4. Control unit
[0014] The washer/dryer (1) comprises a washing tub (2) wherein laundry to be washed is emplaced, one or more heaters (3) for heating the water to be used in the washing process and a control unit (4) that measures the temperature of the water supply or the network voltage and determines the time period for the heater (3) to operate and/or the durations of the washing steps depending on these values (Figure 1).
[0015] The washing performance is kept at the desired level adjusting the time period for the heater (3) to operate and/or the durations of the washing steps by the control unit (4) according to variations in the temperature of the water supply or the network voltage.
[0016] The network voltage or the temperature of the water supply is recorded in the control unit (4) in order to keep the washing performance at the targeted level.
[0017] The electrical components of the washer/dryer (1) are supplied by the network voltage. The minimum network voltage (Vm1n) for maintaining the washing performance determined by the producer is compared with the measured momentary network voltage value (Vnetwork). If the network voltage (Vnetwork) value is less than the minimum network voltage value (Vm1n), then the time period for the heater (3) to operate is increased by a coefficient specified by the producer.
[0018] The water to be used in washer/dryers (1) is supplied by the water supply. The minimum water supply temperature (T1111n) for providing the washing performance determined by the producer is compared with the measured momentary temperature of the water supply (Tsuppiy). If the temperature of the water supply (Tsuppiy) is lower than the minimum water supply temperature (T1111n), then the time period for the heater (3) to operate is increased by a coefficient specified by the producer.
[0019] By means of the present invention, the heating duration, the duration of the washing step after heating and the duration of the rinsing step are adjusted according to the network voltage or the water supply temperature to provide the washing performance
to be affected minimally from variations in the supply sources.
