　本発明は、一般式（１）； （式中、Ｘはハロゲン原子を示す。）で表される３－ベンジルオキシハロベンゼンと金属マグネシウムとを反応させて一般式（２）； （式中、Ｘは前記と同様である。）で表されるグリニャール試薬となし、このグリニャール試薬と硫黄とを反応させることを特徴とする式（３）； で表される３－ベンジルオキシベンゼンチオールの製造方法を提供する。
