Description

Description AN OVEN
[0001] The present invention relates to a gas range oven wherein energy saving is provided.
[0002] In gas ovens, inflammable gases such as methane (CH4) known as natural gas or butane (C4H10) known as oil gas are used. The discharge of gases and some of the heat from the exhaust duct after the burning in the oven results in thermal losses and the reduction of efficiency. Therefore, the gases discharged from the exhaust duct must be kept under control. When both methane and butane gas are desired to be used in a gas oven depending on circumstances, the duct orifice for example that is optimum for methane gas may not be appropriate for butane gas or vice- versa. The cross-sectional area of the duct can be adjusted according to the type of gas; however, when adjustment cannot be made in accordance with the gas this results in inefficient burning and the increase in energy consumption.
[0003] In state of the art United States of America Patent No US6772753, in a gas-fired heater an adjustment device is described which is situated at the exhaust duct and that adjusts the orifice of the exhaust duct according to the measured pressure in the exhaust duct.
[0004] The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven wherein the efficiency is increased by adjusting the exhaust duct cross- sectional area according to the type of gas used and wherein energy saving is provided.
[0005] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is explicated in the claims.
[0006] In the oven of the present invention, inflammable gases such methane, butane having different pressure values are delivered to the gas burners in the oven and on the cooking range and the waste gases and water vapor generated after the burning process in the cooking chamber is discharged out by means of an exhaust duct. A pressure sensor is disposed on the gas supply line that detects the pressure value of the said gases such as methane or butane and a shutter is disposed on the exhaust duct that moves by the triggering of the pressure sensor which adjusts the cross-sectional area of the exhaust duct according to the pressure values detected by the pressure sensor in the gas supply line.
[0007] The shutter moves inside the exhaust duct by the triggering of the pressure sensor with the assistance of for example wheels or sliding bearings for adjusting the cross- sectional area of the exhaust duct and thus burning efficiency is increased by forming an exhaust duct orifice that is in accordance with the type of gas used.
[0008] In an embodiment of the present invention, stoppers are disposed on the shutter or on the exhaust duct that enable the shutter moves by being activated by the pressure sensor to remain at positions appropriate for the type of gas thus adjusting the cross- sectional area of the duct. [0009] In another embodiment of the present invention, one end of the shutter is inside the pressure sensor disposed on the gas supply line and the other end projects from the pressure sensor extending up to the exhaust duct and thus the shutter is directly activated by the pressure sensor.
[0010] In another embodiment of the present invention, an electromechanical motion mechanism such as a step motor is used to activate the shutter according to the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor.
[0011] The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figure, where:
[0012] Figure 1 - is the schematic view of a gas oven.
[0013] The elements illustrated in the figure are numbered as follows:
1. Oven
2. Cooking chamber
3. Gas supply line
4. Gas burner
5. Exhaust duct
6. Pressure sensor
7. Shutter
8. , 108. Stopper
9. Motion mechanism
[0014] The oven (1), wherein flammable gases such as methane (CH4) or butane (C4H10) are used for the energy source, comprises a cooking chamber (2) wherein the cooking process is performed by burning flammable gases, gas burner (4) that provides the burning process inside the cooking chamber (2), a gas supply line (3) that delivers the flammable gases to the gas burner (4) and an exhaust duct (5) for discharging the waste gases and water vapor generated as a result of burning.
[0015] The flammable gases used in the oven (1) are supplied with different pressures depending on the type of gas. For example, the methane gas delivered to the gas burner (4) in the oven (1) by the gas supply line (3) has approximately 20 mbar pressure value while the butane gas has approximately 30 mbar pressure value.
[0016] The oven (1) of the present invention comprises:
- a pressure sensor (6) disposed on the gas supply line (3) that detects the pressure values of different types of flammable gases delivered to the gas burner (4) by means of the gas supply line (3) and
- a shutter (7) situated on the exhaust duct (5) that moves by the triggering of the pressure sensor (6) and adjusts the cross-sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) according to the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor (6) in the gas supply line (3).
[0017] In the embodiment of the present invention, the gases such as methane, butane delivered to the gas burner (4) in the cooking chamber (2) by the gas supply line (3) have different pressure values. The waste gases generated in the cooking chamber (2) as a result of burning are discharged by the exhaust duct (5). The pressure values different from each other depending on the entering gas type, are detected by the pressure sensor (6) disposed on the gas supply line (3) and the shutter (7) on the exhaust duct (5) is triggered according to the detected pressure value and moves for example on wheels or sliding bearings for adjusting the cross-sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) to change according to the gas type. For example, when butane gas with 30 mbar pressure is used, the shutter (7), triggered according to 30 mbar pressure detected by the pressure sensor (6), is pushed forwards and moves in the exhaust duct (5) to decrease the wide cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) providing a cross- sectional area (A) suitable for butane gas. For example, when methane gas with 20 mbar pressure is used, the shutter (7), triggered according to 20 mbar pressure detected by the pressure sensor (6), is pushed backwards and increases the narrow cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) providing a cross-sectional area (A) suitable for methane gas.
[0018] In an embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises one or more stoppers (8, 108) that are disposed on the shutter (7) or on the exhaust duct (5) that enable the shutter (7), moving by being triggered by means of the pressure sensor (6), to remain at positions appropriate for the type of gas thus adjusting the cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5).
[0019] In an oven (1) wherein two types of gases, for example methane or butane gas or like that, can be used, when the butane gas with high pressure is used, the shutter (7) is pushed forwards trying to decrease the cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) and a suitable cross-sectional area (A) for the butane gas is adjusted by means of the stopper (8). Similarly, when methane gas with low pressure is used, the shutter (7) is pulled backwards trying to increase the cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) and a suitable cross-sectional area (A) for the methane gas is adjusted by means of the stopper (108).
[0020] In an embodiment of the present invention, one end of the shutter (7) is inside the pressure sensor (6) that is disposed on the gas supply line (3) and the other end projects from the pressure sensor (6) extending up to the exhaust duct (5). In this embodiment, the shutter (7) is affected with the pressure of the gas in the pressure sensor (6) and thus is directly activated by the pressure sensor (6).
[0021] In another embodiment of the present invention, the oven (1) comprises an electromechanical motion mechanism (9) such as a step motor that moves the shutter (7) according to the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor (6). Thus the shutter (7) can be moved in the desired amount depending on the pressure value detected by the pressure sensor (6) and the cross-sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) can be precisely adjusted.
[0022] In the oven (1) of the present invention, different adjustments are not required for different types of gases; the cross- sectional area (A) of the exhaust duct (5) is adjusted correctly and automatically by the pressure sensor (6) and the shutter (7) whereby energy saving is provided by enhancing the burning efficiency of the oven (1).
