Abstract
Measuring system for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour comprises on a box (16), an rubber cot arbour resting jaw (17) having a. pair of guide rods (18) with pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder provided in the said box, measuring device (s) (21) provided on the said box, said guide rods being pushed by the said cylinder, for pushing the arbours towards a cot diameter measuring device (s) (21).
Claims
1. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, the said measuring system (7) characterized by:
a box (16) being open at two sides,
a rubber cot arbour resting jaw (17) having a pair of guide rods (18) with linear bearings (19) and a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder (20), the said resting jaw (17) is provided in the said box (16),
at least one measuring device (21) for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, said measuring device(s) (21) provided on the said box (16),
wherein said guide rods (18) being pushed by the said cylinder (20) for pushing the arbours towards a cot diameter measuring device(s) (21) and the said jaw (17) further provided with a centrally divided bridge track unit (22) with adjusting means (23) for accommodating different sizes of arbours. 16
2. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said box (16) is made of metal such as light weight moulded aluminum.
3. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring device (21) is a contact type electronic dial gauge.
4. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring device (21) is an electronic probe.
5. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring device (21) is non contact type digital imaging system.
6. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring device (21) is ultra sonic. 17
7. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring device (21) is laser type.
8. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claims 1 to 7, in which a measuring device
(21) is provided with digital or analog output on a LCD display via C.P.U.
9. The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said adjustment means (23) provided for adjusting the centrally divided bridge track
(22) is a rack and pinion screw and nut or the like means for adjusting the central gap according to the size or gauge of the arbours, either manually or by using an electric motor or any other prime mover.

The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said cot diameter measuring system is provided in between unfinished rubber cot arbour conveyer unit (6) & arbour loading- unloading carriage (8) 18 ahead of the grinding head unit (11) to receive the unfinished arbours, one by one, from the unfinished arbour conveyer unit (6) for measuring the cot diameter of unfinished arbours and removing the unsuitable arbours by rejection and collecting in the said rejection tray.

The measuring system (7) being used in an automatic rubber cot grinding or buffing machine for measuring cot diameter of rubber cot arbour, according to claim 1, in which the said measuring system is provided in between unfinished arbour conveyer unit (6) & arbour loading- unloading carriage (8), after the grinding head unit (11), to measure the cot diameter of finished arbours and removing the unsuitable arbours and collecting them into the rejection tray and allowing only the suitable arbours to be conveyed by the finished arbour conveyer unit, into the loading magazine.
12. Automatic grinding or buffing machine incorporated with the measuring system for measuring the rubber cot diameter of the rubber cot arbours according to claims 1 to 11.
