Abstract

Vehicle for person's (3) using a wheelchair, especially disabled persons, whic vehicle has a bodywork delimited at the bottom by a floor plate (4), having a top-hinged back door (12), enclosing a space suitable for accommodating a wheelchair (2); the vehicle (1) has an engine (25) favourably in driving connection with the rear wheels (23),- a steering mechanism; an access ramp (6 making it possible to roll the wheelchair (2) inside and out of the vehicle (1) attached to the rear part of the floor plate (4) in a lifting- lowering way practically with a hinge (7) or hinges and connected with a moving mechanism. The vehicle (1) has control and display units needed for operating the vehicle (1) outdoors. The access ramp (6) moving mechanism has a moving unit operated by the opening and closing of the door (12) of the vehicle (1), connected to the access ramp (6). The invention is based on that it has a docking unit (60) inside the vehicle (1) suitable for accommodating and catching the docking pin (74) belonging to the wheelchair (2), fixing by this the position of the wheelchair (2) inside the vehicle (1) and releasing the wheelchair (2) from this fixed position.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 10 December 2008 (10.12.2008)
1. Vehicle for persons (3) using a wheelchair, especially disabled persons, which vehicle has a bodywork delimited at the bottom by a floor plate (4), having a top-hinged back door (12), enclosing a space suitable for accommodating a wheelchair (2); the vehicle (1) has an engine (25) favourably in driving connection with the rear wheels (23); a steering mechanism; an access ramp (6) making it possible to roll the wheelchair (2) inside and out of the vehicle (1) attached to the rear part of the floor plate (4) in a lifting-lowering way practically with a hinge (7) or hinges and connected with a moving mechanism; and control and display units needed for operating the vehicle (1) outdoors, and the access ramp (6) moving mechanism has a moving unit operated by the opening and closing of the door (12) of the vehicle (1), connected to the ramp (6); inside the vehicle (1) there is a a docking unit (60) suitable for accommodating and catching the docking pin (74) belonging to the wheelchair (2), fixing by this the position of the wheelchair (2) inside the vehicle (1) and releasing the wheelchair (2) from this fixed position, characterised by that the docking unit (60) has a case (66) on the side with an opening (68), favourably at the top, and a locking pin (69) with a cross-section at its lower end shaped to suit the lateral opening (68), which locking pin (69) can be moved away from the opening (68) against spring force in a spring-tube (70) in line with the opening (68) and can be driven inside the case (66) through the opening (68) by spring force, and the locking pin (69) is pressed into the spring-tube (70) against spring-force through the opening (68) as the docking pin (74) moving together with the wheelchair (2) is advancing inside' the case (66), and then it connects the wheelchair (2) and the vehicle (1) together by entering a scat (77) in the docking pin (74) due to spring-force, which seat (77) covers the opening (68) as the docking pin (74) advances; and that a unit is connected to the locking pin (69), which unit can be operated by the user of the vehicle (1) and is suitable for pulling out the locking pin (69) from the seat (77) of
34 the docking pin (74) against spring-force releasing by this the docking pin (74) and also the wheelchair (2) from its fixed position. .
2. Vehicle as in claim 1, characterised by that the spring (71) inside the spring- tube (70) is a coil spring surrounding the locking pin (69); the lower end of the locking pin (69) with a rectangular-shaped, favourably square-shaped cross-section in contact with the docking pin (74) has an inclined surface (79); and the unit designed for releasing the docking pin (74) is a release lever (62) connected to the upper end of the locking pin (69).
3. Vehicle as in claim 1 or 2, characterised by that the docking unit (60) is attached to the steering column (35) of the vehicle (1) with a clamp (63).
