The pulley (3) is connected by belt to a dynamo (10) via pulley (9) to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy.
Description
AN ENGINE TO CONVERT GRAVITATIONAL ENERGY INTO ELECTRICAL
ENERGY
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the production of electricity.
The object of the invention is to generate rotational kinetic energy (mechanical energy) from the energy of gravitational force.
The principle object of the invention (the engine) is to generate electricity from the rotational Kinetic energy (mechanical energy) which converted from the energy of gravitational force.
The invention (the engine) will not use -
-Atomic energy, coal, any type of Petroleum product, Gas, Bio-gas, Waterfall, Wind-power, Solar-energy, Heat of the Hot-stream (from earth), Cow-dug- to run the engine.
The invention (the engine) will use only Gravitational Potential Energy to run the engine.
In the known art, Electricity produce by steam turbine needs atomic energy or coal or gas. Water turbine needs waterfall (Naturally or artificially), which is not enough for our needs of electricity. Wind-Power is very limited at interior part of our nation.
Water will not use at any stage and at any form in the engine (invention).
The invention is completely free from Pollution..
The main object of the invention is "How to apply the formulla of Physics into the Engine.- "The known formulla of workdone by the force of gravity is W = mgh (W = work done, m = mass (weight) , g = gravitational acceleration, h = height). And
Power = Work done time
Therefore Power due to gravity = mgh t
Falling body (mass) will produce the power by mgh t1
Lifting body (mass) will use power to lift is mgh . (where t2 is greater than t1 ) t2
When we take more time (t2) to lift the mass (as m1g and h remain same); less power will use to lift. And as a result, we will get neet power.
Therefore, Power generated by the engine
= Power gained by falling mass - Power used to lift by lifting mass - frictional and other losses
- mgh - mgh - losses where t1 is less then t2. t1 t 2
The methods to apply the said topic in the practical manner is the OBJECT OF THE INVENTI ON.
The invention can explained with reference to accompanying drawings (Drg, No.1, Sheet No.I) The drawing shows the working of the engine as below :
On Pulley ( 1) , §.on which the mass (weight) (8) is hang with the help of wire-rope (7) . The mass (wt) ( 8) is falling and lifting by the same height. When the mass (wt. ) (8) falls down-word due to gravity, the pulley ( 1 ) rotates clock-wise . As the direction of the dog (2) is in such a situation, that it "engaged" the rachet Wheel (4) at the time of "falling the mass (8) " . The Pulley(1) and the dog ( 2) are fixed with the pin; so when the Pulley (1) rotates* the dog (2) will also rotate and it acts on the rachet-wheel (4) ; as a result, the rachet-wheel ( 4) will rotate ' with the Pulley ( 1 ) . The rachet-wheel ( 4) is keyed (fixed) with'- the main Shaft of the engine. So the shaft wi ll rotate clock-wise. The f lywheel ( 12) is also keyed (fixes) with the main-shaft, so the fly-wheel (12) also rotates. Hence, the power produce by the fallln mass ( 8)
is converted into the Rotational Kinetic Energy in the flywheel (12). At this stage, the energy is stored in the rotational flywheel (12).
The Pulley (1) and the gear (5) are mounted and fixed on a collar, which is rotating on ball-bearings. Thus, the Pulley (1) and the gear (5) are rotating on ball-bearing.
The ratio of speed (rpm) of gear (5) and gear (6) is between 5:1 to 20:1 as required. The direction of rotation are same of both the gears.
Gear (5) is of "Pull Teether" and the Gear (6) is of "Half Teethed" . So, when the "unteethed" portion of the gear (6) is "match" with the gear (5), both the gear are free and are dis-engaged. As a result, the mass (8) fall-down-ward, and pulley (1) rotates, fly-wheel (12) rotates, and rotational kinetic energy stored in the fly wheel (12) .
As soon as the weight (mass) (8) touches the ground, gear (6) "engaged" with gear (5), because 'unteethed' portion of gear (6) is over, and the 'teethed' portion of gear (6) is engaged with the gear (5). ) •
As a result, the gear (5) rotates anticlockwise. The gear (5) and the pulley (1) are coupled (fixed), so the pulley (1) also rotate anticlockwise, so, with the rope (1) , the weight (8) will start to lift, because of the speed-ratio of the gears (: 5 and 6) , the weight (8) will take more time to lift up. Rotational Kinetic Energy, which stored in the flywheel (12) will cause the lifting the weight (8). As the weight (12) reaches it's height, the 'unteethed' portion of the gear (6) will dis-engaged the gear (5)* and as a result, both gears will be "free", and due to gravitational force, weight (8) will start to drop down-wards; the Pulley (1) will again rotates in clockwise direction, and the dog (2) will engaged with rachat-wheel (4), which is keyed with the Shaft, and. shaft will rotate. With the shaft, flywheel (12) also rotate, and the cycle will continue.
To produce electricity a pulley (3) is connected by belt (11) with dynamo (10). To maintain dynamo's (10) speed, the ratio of Pulleys (3) and (9) will maintained.
If we want to make the engine on higher-scale, we can use more mass (weight) , and on the same shaft, we can place more "set" of said pulley (1), gears (5 & 6) , dogs (2), rachet-wheel (4) to produce more electricity.
There are some more method to apply the Physics principle (w = mgh in production - t -of electricity and to run engine by gravitational force only.
A known governing device may also be incorporated in the system to control the speed.
