Abstract

The Car Place Finder consist in a device that solves the problem of finding the vacant car spaces in a parking lot, showing,or acting as a trigger to show, to the driver clearly where are the vacant car spaces available to park his vehicle.

Description

Description
CAR PLACE FINDER
Technical Field
[1] This application is being filled as a PCT application on 23 October 2007 by Ricardo
Machado Malveira, an Australian national and resident designating all countries. The application claims priority to Australian Application Number 2006233171 filed 26 October 2006.
Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem
[2] The Car Place Finder solves the problem of showing the vacant car spaces in a parking lot, showing the driver clearly where are the vacant car spaces available to park his vehicle. Technical Solution
[3] It consists in basically in a pole, spring action hinge mechanism and a fixing device to secure the system in place (Figure 01).
[4] Basically, a driver notices the 'Car Place Finder' on its standard position that is signalizing a vacant parking space there.
[5] He drives his vehicle to the parking spot and parks it as he normally does.
[6] While he is parking, the natural contact from the vehicle with the pole of the 'Car
Place Finder' makes the spring action hinge mechanism to allow the pole to perform an angular trajectory towards the ground.
[7] Once the vehicle is parked, the spring action hinge mechanism of the 'Car Place
Finder' let the pole remain mostly under the vehicle, in a position almost parallel to the vehicle floor, therefore that parking spot will no longer signalized to other drivers as available (Figure 02).
[8] Once the driver moves his vehicle away from the parking spot, the spring hinge mechanism will make the pole go back to its original standard position what signalizes therefore to the other drivers that now that parking place is available (Figure 03).
[9] This simple system can also be used coupled to a mechanic, electro/electronic or any other kind of switch or indicator, that by a change in state could be able to show that this vehicle parking place is available or not.
[10] My drawings demonstrate the basic principle of the system. Innumerous similar mechanisms that are able to perform similar action that can be used, as well as pole shapes, pole materials and attachments allowing flags and various signs to be displayed, providing space for parking signs, advertisement and much more to be attached or molded to (Figure 04). [11] The pole can also incorporate a light to be visible at night, light that could be powered by batteries and recharged by solar panels for example, assuring the independence of the system.
[12] This whole system can also be made in only one piece able to perform all the actions described in this invention.
[13] The basic idea is to provide a way to clearly signalize any vacant vehicle parking spaces. Advantageous Effects
[14] Saves time for customers in the search of a parking spot;
[15] Enviromentaly friendly helping to save energy and gas emissions as the customers will find their parking spots more effectively,
[16] Can provide precise identification for each parking spot (EG: Disabled, Buses,
Loading and unloading space etc.,
[17] Requires no modification to the parking spot, being able to be installed straight away;
[18] Provides an useful and free service for customers and can generate revenue for the owner of the parking places, who can charge for to advertise in each Car Place Finder. Description of Drawings
[19] Figure 01 - Shows the pole, spring action hinge mechanism and a fixing device to secure the system in place, that are the basic elements of the Car Place Finder;
[20] Figure 02 - Shows the vehicle entering the parking spot that was signalized as available by the Car Place Finder. Once the vehicle is parked, the Car Place Finder do not shows that parking space as vacant anymore;
[21] Figure 03 - Shows the vehicle going out of the parking spot. Once the vehicle is out, once again the Car Place Finder signalizes that parking space as vacant again, ready for other vehicle to park.
[22] Figure 04 - Shows some samples of mechanisms that can perform as hinges and attachments in the Car Place Finder.

Claims

Claims
[1] Car Place Finder signalizes (shows) the vacant car places.
[2] Car Place finder can be also used as a part of a system that signalizes (shows) the vacant car places.
[3] The clam is about the basic principle of the system, as innumerous similar mechanisms that are able to perform similar action that can be used, as well as pole shapes, pole materials and attachments allowing flags and various signs to be displayed, providing space for parking signs, advertisement and much more to be attached or molded to.
[4] The pole can also incorporate a light to be visible at night, light that could be powered by batteries and recharged by solar panels for example, assuring the independence of the system or also as a trigger for a more elaborate system..
[5] This whole system can also be made in only one piece able to perform all the actions described in this invention.
