Abstract

The invention relates to a device including a duct (4) for recirculating exhaust gases (6), connected to an intake collector duct (3) provided upstream of an intake distributor. The recirculation duct (4) extends along an axis perpendicular and radially offset relative to a central longitudinal axis of the intake collector duct (3), and comprises a tubular mixing end piece (7) provided in the intake collector duct (3) and having a cross-section that is concentric to that of the collector duct (3) in order to drive the exhaust gases along a helical trajectory so as to mix them with a first portion of the intake air flow through the mixing end piece (7), and in order to form an annular gap between an outer wall of the mixing end piece (7) and an inner wall of the collector duct (3) so that a second portion of the intake air flow through the annular gap defines a thermal barrier.
