Abstract

L'invention concerne des moyens pour produire de l'eau douce à partir d'eau de mer à la fois du côté chaudière et du côté condenseur d'une centrale énergie thermique des mers (OTEC). Une partie de l'eau de mer de surface chaude est évaporée, et sa vapeur transfère de la chaleur à la chaudière de fluide actif, lorsque la vapeur condense. La condensation de la vapeur fournit de l'eau douce. Sur le côté condenseur, la condensation de la vapeur du fluide actif provenant de la turbine, dans le condenseur, libère de la chaleur qui évapore l'eau de mer qui s'écoule à l'extérieur des surfaces de condenseur. La vapeur provenant de l'eau de mer est condensée par un échangeur de chaleur qui utilise une entrée provenant de l'eau de mer plus froide. Lorsque l'eau de mer froide accepte de la chaleur en provenance de la vapeur se condensant, elle devient légèrement plus chaude et fournit la source d'eau de mer qui accepte de la chaleur en provenance du condenseur. La vapeur se condensant sur l'échangeur de chaleur devient de l'eau douce qui est extraite sous forme d'eau potable. Pour fournir de l'eau douce supplémentaire, une unité de désalinisation à étages multiples utilise l'évacuation d'eau chaude et l'évacuation d'eau froide à partir de l'installation OTEC pour fournir un gradient de température qui provoque une évaporation et une condensation dans chaque étage de l'unité.
