Abstract

A support surface (10,200) for a sleeping person, that comprises a rigid frame (30,230) with an upper edge (32,232) for supporting an air-permeable layer (20,220) and an air-permeable layer (20,220) that is fixedly assembled on the upper edge (32,232) in a desired tension, such that the upper edge (32,232) is entirely covered by the outer perimeter of the air-permeable layer (20,220). The air-permeable layer (20,220) comprises a lattice grid structure such as a mesh material, a netting or a web-like material. The outer perimeter of the air-permeable layer (20,220) is joined to the frame (30,230) at the side wall or at the bottom wall of the frame (30,230).
