課題を解決するための手段

発明の効果

発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0019] 本発明に係る導波管及び共振器においては、 図 3に示すように、 導波管に おいて電磁波を伝播させる伝播空間又は共振器において電磁波を共振させる 共振空間である内部空間 2 1を囲う導電体から成る壁 2 2の近傍に、 空間 2 4を介して、 導電体から成る導電体層 2 3が設けられる。 壁 2 2には、 従来 の導波管や共振器で用いられているものと同様のものを用いることができる 。 壁 2 2と導電体層 2 3の間の空間 2 4が、 本願におけるスぺーサ層である 。 スぺーサ層 2 4の厚さは、 内部空間 2 1に電磁波が存在する時に導電体層 2 3を流れる表面電流の方向に関して、 電流値が最大となる中央部 2 3 Aよ リも端部 2 3 Bの方が大きくなるようにされている。
[0020] スぺーサ層 2 4は、 本発明の効果を高めるために、 誘電率が極力低い材料 から成ることが望ましい。 そのような材料として、 典型的には真空が挙げら れる。 あるいは、 装置の作製を容易にするために、 空間 2 4に誘電体が充填 されていてもよい。 その誘電体には気体、 液体、 固体のいずれのものも用い ることができるが、 発泡ポリエチレン等、 誘電率が真空の誘電率に近いもの を用いることが望ましい。 また、 スぺーサ一層にポーラス状やメッシュ状の 誘電体を用いることにより、 実効的な誘電率を更に低くすることができる。
[0021 ] スぺーサ層 2 4を上述の形状にするために、 導電体層 2 3は、 端部 2 3 B の方が壁 2 2から遠くなるように、 平坦な状態から変形した形状に形成する 。 そのような形状として、 典型的には図 3に示すように中央部 2 3 Aと端部
2 3 Bの中間点 2 3 Cに段差を形成したものが挙げられる。 また、 中間点 2
3 Cとは異なる位置に段差を設けたものや、 段差を設ける代わリに中央部 2 3 Aから端部 2 3 Bに向かうに従って徐々に導電体層 2 3を壁 2 2から遠ざ けたもの等も挙げられる。
[0022] なお、 図 3では導電体層 2 3及びスぺーサ層をそれぞれ 1層のみ設けた例 を示したが、 これらの層を複数、 交互に積層させてもよい。
[0023] 導電体層 2 3及びスぺーサ層 2 4を設けることにより、 図 1及び図 2に示 した従来の共振器と同様に、 表皮効果によるエネルギーの損失を抑制するこ とができる。 そして、 その効果は、 導電体層 2 3及びスぺーサ層 2 4を上記 の形状としたことにより、 従来よりも顕著になる。 以下に、 その理由を説明 する。
[0024] 内部空間 2 1内に電磁波が存在し、 スぺーサ層 2 4の幅がその電磁波の半 波長程度であると、 スぺーサ層 2 4内には内部空間 2 1内の電磁場とは独立 の電磁場が形成される (図 4 (a) ) 。 壁 2 2の内表面及び導電体層 2 3に垂直 な方向の電場の強さは端部 2 3 B付近で最大になり、 磁場の強さは中央部 2 3 A付近で最大になる。 このような電磁場が形成されることにより、 スぺー サ層 2 4内の電磁場は図 4 (b)に示した等価回路で表現できる。 ここで、 壁 2 2、 導電体層 2 3及びスぺーサ層 2 4の構成は、 端部 2 3 B付近がコンデン サ 2 6に該当し、 中央部 2 3 A付近がコイル 2 7に該当する。 スぺーサ層 2 4の厚さを中央部 2 3 A付近で小さくし、 端部 2 3 B付近で大きくすること は、 図 4 (b)の等価回路のコンデンサ 2 6の静電容量 C及びコイル 2 7のイン ダクタンス Lを共に小さくすることに相当する。 この等価回路の共振周波数は C-1/2及び /2に比例するため、 このように静電容量 C及びィンダクタンス Lを小 さくすることによりその等価回路の共振周波数は大きくなる。 共振周波数が 大きくなることは、 スぺーサ層 2 4の誘電率が小さくなることと等価である このようにスぺーサ層 2 4の誘電率が等価的に小さくなることにより、 図 2に示したように表皮効果に起因するエネルギーの損失を抑制することがで きる。 そのため、 本発明において導電体層 2 3及びスぺーサ層 2 4を上記の 形状としたことによリ従来よリもエネルギーの損失を小さくすることができ る。
[0025] 導電体層 2 3に垂直な方向の電場及び導電体層 2 3に平行な磁場の成分は 中間点 2 3 Cを境界として中央部 2 3 A側では磁場が、 端部 2 3 B側では電 場が、 それぞれ強くなるため、 導電体層 2 3はこの中間点 2 3 Cに段差を設 けたものであることが望ましい。
実施例
[0026] (1) 同軸共振器の実施例
本発明の一実施例である同軸共振器の一例を、 図 5〜図 6を用いて説明す る。 図 5は本実施例の同軸共振器 3 0の外観図であり、 図 6は同軸共振器 3 0の軸方向断面図である。 なお、 図 6の軸方向断面図では説明の都合上、 そ の断面の縦方向を拡大して示した。 外側管 3 1及び内側管 3 2は導電体から 成り互いに径が異なる管であって、 中心軸 3 3を共有する同軸状に配置され ている。 これら外側管 3 1及び内側管 3 2の間の領域は TEMモードの電磁波を 共振させる空洞 3 7となり、 これら外側管 3 1及び内側管 3 2が空洞 3 7の 壁を構成する。
[0027] 内側管 3 2の外表面近傍に、 内側管 3 2を取り巻くように、 導電体から成 る導電体層 3 5が配置されている。 導電体層 3 5は、 外側管 3 1の両端面か ら等距離にある、 中心軸 3 3に垂直な断面 3 4を中心として対称な形状を有 する。 導電体層 3 5の端部 3 5 Bは外側管 3 1及び内側管 3 2の端面 3 1 A と断面 3 4から等距離の位置にある。 そして、 導電体層 3 5の中央部 3 5 A と端部 3 5 Bの中間に、 導電体層 3 5が端部 3 5 B側よりも中央部 3 5 A側 の方が内側管 3 2に近くなるように段差 3 5 Cが設けられている。 内側管 3 2と導電体層 3 5の間は空洞であり、 この部分がスぺーサ層 3 6となる。
[0028] なお、 スぺーサ層 3 6内の共振周波数を高くするためにはスぺーサ層 3 6 は空洞であることが望ましいが、 スぺーサ層 3 6に誘電体を充填してもよい
。 その場合、 まず内側管 3 2の表面に接着剤となる誘電体により、 段差を有 するスぺーサ層 3 6を形成し、 その上に導電体層 3 5を形成する (貼り付け る) ことにより、 導電体層 3 5及びスぺーサ層 3 6を容易に作製することが できる。
[0029] 本実施例の同軸共振器 3 0における、 スぺーサ層 3 6内の電磁波の周波数 を計算で求めた結果を、 図 7及び図 8を用いて説明する。 この計算では、 導 電体層 3 5の中央部 3 5 Aから端部 3 5 Bまでの距離を 250mmとし、 中央部 3 5 Aから段差 3 5 Cまでの距離及び段差 3 5 Cから端部 3 5 Bまでの距離を いずれも 125mmとした。 そして、 中央部 3 5 Aと段差 3 5 Cの間におけるスぺ ーサ層 3 6の厚さ doを 4mmに固定し、 段差 3 5 Cと端部 3 5 Bの間におけるス ぺーサ層 3 6の厚さ dを 1. 1d0、 2d0、 3d0、 4d0、 8d0、 16d0と変化させながら、 ス ぺーサ層 3 6内の電磁波の共振周波数を計算した。
[0030] 図 7に、 厚さ dによるスぺーサ層 3 6内の共振周波数を計算した結果を示す 。 なお、 図中の縦方向に延びる線は、 内側管 3 2の表面に垂直な方向の電気 力線を示し、 この線の間隔が狭くなる程、 その方向の電場が強いことを示し ている。 図 8に、 この計算結果をグラフに示す。 比較例として、 特許文献 2 に記載の共振器と同様に段差 3 5 Cのない導電体層を設けた場合について計 算を行ったところ、 導電体層と内側管の間の共振周波数は、 本実施例のいず れの計算結果よりも小さい 198MHzであった。 即ち、 本実施例の構成により、 スぺーサ層 3 6内の共振周波数を従来よりも高めることができ、 それにより 表皮効果によるエネルギーの損失を抑制することができる。 また、 dが大きく なる程、 スぺーサ層 3 6内の共振周波数が高くなリ、 本発明の効果がょリ顕 著になる。
[0031 ] 次に、 同軸共振器 3 0において、 共振器の Q値及び共振周波数を測定した結 果、 及びその測定条件に対応する条件を用いて計算によリ Q値を求めた結果を 、 図 9を用いて説明する。 図 9 (a)は、 測定で用いた同軸共振器 3 0の中央部 3 5 Aと、 その中央部 3 5 Aと端面 3 1 Aの中間点 3 8と、 の間の領域 3 9 における内側管 3 2、 導電体層 3 5及びスぺーサ層 3 6を拡大して描いたも のである。 外側管 3 1 (図示せず) は全長 2131. 4mm、 外径 55mm、 内径 50mmで あり、 内側管 3 2は全長 2428. 2隱、 外径 40mm (半径 20nm) 、 内径 36隱である 。 導電体層 3 5の厚さは 5 mである。 内側管 3 2、 外側管、 導電体層 3 5は いずれも銅製である。 スぺーサ層 3 6は、 中央部 3 5 Aと段差 3 5 Cの間で は厚さ 25 mのポリイミドフィルム 3 6 Aから成り、 段差 3 5 Cと導電体層端 部 3 5 Bの間では厚さ 25 mのポリイミドフィルム 3 6 Aと厚さ 300 mのポリ エチレンメッシュ 3 6 Bを重ねたものから成る。 これら導電体層 3 5及びス ぺーサ層 3 6は、 ポリイミドフィルム 3 6 Aの表面に導電体層 3 5が蒸着さ れた市販の 「メタロイヤル」 (東洋メタライジング株式会社製、 登録商標) をポリエチレンメッシュ 3 6 Bの表面に被覆することにより作製した。 。 こ こでは測定の都合上、 段差 3 5 Cは中央部 3 5 Aから 150mm離れた位置に固定 し、 導電体層端部 3 5 Bの位置を中央部 3 5 Aから 150mm (段差 3 5 Cの位置 ) 〜500mm (中間点 3 8付近) の範囲内で変化させながら測定を行った。
[0032] 測定結果及び計算結果を図 9 (b)に示す。 ここで、 導電体層 3 5の中央 3 5 Aと導電体層端部 3 5 Bの距離 3 5 A Bである。 また、 縦軸は、 各測定点に おける Q値を、 導電体層 3 5がない時 (横軸の値が 0の時) の Q値である QQで除 した値 Q/Q0で示した。 Q/Q0値は測定値と計算値がよく一致している。 また、 距 離 3 5 A Bがおおむね 330mm以上の時に Q/QQが 1よリも大きくなる、 即ち損失を 抑制することができることが示された。 一方、 距離 3 5 A Bが 330mm未満の場 合には、 Q/QQが 1よりも小さくなリ、 共振器の共振周波数を持つ電磁波を抑制 するフィルタとして用いることができる。
[0033] 図 1 0に、 同軸共振器 3 0の変形例である同軸共振器 3 O Aを示す。 同軸 共振器 3 O Aは、 同軸共振器 3 0と同様の外側管 3 1、 内側管 3 2、 導電体 層 3 5及びスぺーサ層 3 6を有し、 更に、 外側管 3 1の内表面に外側導電体 層 3 5 1及び外側スぺーサ層 3 6 1を有する。 外側導電体層 3 5 1及び外側 スぺーサ層 3 6 1は軸を含む断面において、 導電体層 3 5及びスぺーサ層 3 6に対して線対称な形状を有する。 このような外側導電体層 3 5 1及び外側 スぺーサ層 361を設けることにより、 同軸共振器 3 OAは同軸共振器 30 よりも更に電力の損失を抑えることができる。
[0034] (2) 誘電体共振器の実施例
図 1 1を用いて、 本発明の他の実施例である誘電体共振器 40を説明する 。 この誘電体共振器 40は、 図 1に示した従来の誘電体共振器 10と同様に 、 円柱状の共振器誘電体 43の上下に薄膜多層電極 41及び 42を挟んで成 る。 また、 薄膜多層電極 41 (42) が、 円板状の導電体 41 1 (421) の上にそれよリも外径が小さく中心に孔が設けられたドーナツ状のスぺーサ 層 41 2 (422) を載置し、 更にスぺーサ層 41 2の上にそれと同じ形状 の導電体層 413 (423) を載置して成る点も誘電体共振器 10と同様で ある。 本実施例では、 スぺーサ層 41 2 (422) は、 図 1 1に示したドー ナツの中心を通る縦断面において、 ドーナツの内径の端面 44 B及び内径の 端面 44Cよりも中心 44 Aの方が薄くなるように形成されている。 このよ うにスぺーサ層 41 2 (422) が形成されていることにより、 上述の同軸 共振器と同様に、 表皮効果によるエネルギーの損失を抑制することができる
[0035] (3) 導波管の実施例
図 1 2を用いて、 本発明の他の実施例である円形導波管 50を説明する。 図 1 2は円形導波管 50の軸に垂直な断面を示している。 この円形導波管 5 0は TE„モードの導波管であり、 導電体から成る円形管 51内の空間 52に電 磁波を軸方向に伝播させるものである。 円形管 51の内表面にその一部を覆 うスぺーサ層 53を設け、 スぺーサ層 53の表面に導電体層 54を設ける。 スぺーサ層 53は端部が中央部よりも厚くなるように形成されている。 スぺ ーサ層 53及び導電体層 54は 2組、 互いに向かい合うように配置される。 このようにスぺーサ層 53が形成されていることにより、 表皮効果によるェ ネルギ一の損失を抑制することができる。

Claims

請求の範囲
[1 ] 導波管の伝播空間側表面に設けた空洞又は誘電体から成るスぺーサ層と該 スぺーサ層の表面に設けた導電体から成る層を有し、 該スぺーサ層の厚さが 該導電体における表面電流の方向に関して中央部よリも両端部の方が大きく なるように形成されていることを特徴とする導波管。
[2] 前記伝播空間が空洞であることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の導波管。
[3] 前記導電体層及び前記スぺーサ層が交互に複数積層していることを特徴と する請求項 1又は 2に記載の導波管。
[4] 前記伝播空間が同軸に配置された外側管と内側管の間の間の空間であり、 前記導電体層及び前記スぺーサ層が内側管の外表面及び外側管の内表面の双 方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項 1〜 3のいずれかに記載の導波 管。
[5] 共振器の共振空間側表面に設けた空洞又は誘電体から成るスぺーサ層と該 スぺーサ層の表面に設けた導電体から成る層を有し、 該スぺーサ層の厚さが 該導電体における表面電流の方向に関して中央部よリも両端部の方が大きく なるように形成されていることを特徴とする共振器。
[6] 前記共振空間が空洞であることを特徴とする請求項 5に記載の共振器。
[7] 前記導電体層及び前記スぺーサ層が交互に複数積層していることを特徴と する請求項 5又は 6に記載の導波管。
[8] 前記共振空間が同軸に配置された外側管と内側管の間の間の空間であり、 前記導電体層及び前記スぺーサ層が内側管の外表面及び外側管の内表面の双 方に設けられていることを特徴とする請求項 5〜 7のいずれかに記載の共振 器
