Abstract

The invention relates to a printing unit (01) having at least one press unit (06; 07) of a web-fed rotary printing press having a forme cylinder (08) which carries at least one printing forme, a transfer cylinder (09) which interacts with the forme cylinder (08) for transferring printing images from the forme cylinder (08) onto a printing-material web (04), and having an inking unit (11) for inking the forme cylinder (08) by means of printing ink, wherein the inking unit (11) comprises an ink transfer roll (13) which transfers printing ink, a printing-ink supply device (12) for supplying printing ink to the ink transfer roll (13), and an ink applicator roll (14; 16) which interacts firstly with the ink transfer roll (13) and secondly with the forme cylinder (08) for applying printing ink onto the forme cylinder (08), wherein the inking unit (11) comprises two ink applicator rolls (14; 16) which interact with the ink transfer roll (13) and the forme cylinder (08), wherein the circumference of the ink applicator rolls (14; 16) is in each case substantially identical to the circumference of the forme cylinder (08).
