Description

Description A COOLING DEVICE
[0001] The present invention relates to a cooling device comprising a holder that δcilitates storing bottles.
[0002] Various solutions have been devised for storing bottles in the interior volume of the cooling device without occupying much space. These solutions are generally bottle holders of various configurations positioned above or under the shelves that divide the inner space of the cooling device into partitions.
[0003] In the state of the art European Patent no. EP0917639, a storage device for stocking bottles that is folded under the shelf is described. In this document, since the bottle storage device is folded under the shelf, the rotational movement continues until reaching the shelf and is completed upon reaching the shelf. Thus, it can be used through applying force always in the same direction by the user and folded by always bringing to the same position. In this implementation, each ring is coupled with a connector and folded to the wall of the cooling device or under the shelf by a lateral movement to the loading direction.
[0004] In another state of the art International Patent Application no. WO05059458, bottle carriers are described that are moved along a slipway whereby the vertical and horizontal axis thereof are aligned on the same level such that they intercept for storing one bottle, and when not aligned on the same level more than one bottle can be stored, thereby preventing to occupy more space in the interior volume of the cooling device.
[0005] The object of the present invention is to design a cooling device that comprises a holder that carries and stores bottles which occupies less space when not in use.
[0006] The cooling device designed to fulfill the objective of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a holder that is assembled to at least one rail, having at least two rings, preferably bent in a U shape, that are disposed coaxially.
[0007] The cooling device comprises a movement mechanism whereby each ring is connected to the other and that transfers the motion of one ring to the other by making a scissor-like motion. Consequently, a holder that is opened or closed in the same direction of loading is provided.
[0008] The bottle can be horizontally arranged on the holder when the coaxially disposed rings are in the open position.
[0009] The movement mechanism comprises more than two rods that are decussately assembled to each other from a center point such that they can pivot around this center point, their articulated joints moving as a result of the pivotal motion. When the rod pairs connected decussately to each other from their centers and making scissor-like motion are disposed side-by-side adjacently, the articulated joints at the ends of the adjacent rod pairs that intercept are movably connected to each other.
[0010] The movably connected center points of the rods are secured to the lateral surfaces of the rings. Accordingly, when a force is applied on the ring, the ring and the rod secured thereon move iarther away and the articulated joints of the rods that pivot around their center points during this distancing motion also move and the motion in one rod pair is transferred to the other rod pair. The rings either move closer or iarther away depending on the direction of the force applied on the ring and the movement mechanism closes or opens respectively with a scissor-like motion.
[0011] By means of the present invention, when the holder is not in use, the rings are brought together to minimize the usage volume of the holder providing the interior space of the cooling device to be utilized effectively.
[0012] The cooling device designed to fulfill the object of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
[0013] Hgure 1 - is the perspective view of a holder in the open position.
[0014] Hgure 2 - is the perspective view of a holder in the open position containing a bottle emplaced therein.
[0015] Hgure 3 - is the perspective view of a holder in the closed position not containing a bottle.
[0016] Hgure 4 - is the perspective view of a movement mechanism in the open position.
[0017] Hgure 5 - is the perspective view of a movement mechanism in the closed position.
[0018] Hgure 6 - is the detailed perspective view of a cooling device wherein a holder is disposed.
[0019] The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
1. Cooling device
2. Holder
3. Rng
4. Movement mechanism
5. Rail
6. Rod
[0020] The cooling device (1) comprises a body wherein items to be cooled are stored, at least one door allowing access into the body from the outside, one or more shelves po- sitioned inside at different levels, one or more rails (5) secured on the body or the door and a holder (2) assembled to the rail (5) that can move along the rail (5) (Hgure 6).
[0021] The holder (2) comprises at least two rings (3), preferably U shaped, assembled to the rail (5) coaxially and one or more movement mechanisms (4) connecting each ring (3) to the other and transferring the motion of one ring (3) to the other with a scissor- like movement (Hgure 1).
[0022] The movement mechanism (4) comprises at least two rods (6) preferably decussately connected to each other from their center points (O), pivoting around the connected center point (O), with the articulated joints (S) at their ends moving as a result of the pivoting motion. The rod (6) pair constituted by connecting the two rods (6) together, when disposed adjacently, the articulated joints (S) of the neighboring rod (6) pairs intersect and are movably connected to each other. The center points (O) of the rod (6) pairs are secured to the lateral surfaces of the ring (3) (Hgure 4 and Hgure 5).
[0023] In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cooling device (1) comprises two rails (5) positioned parallel to each other wherein the two arms of the U shaped rings (3) are separately seated. Each ring (3) is disposed coaxially in the rails (5) such that they can move along the rails (5).
[0024] In an embodiment of the present invention, when a force is applied on the ring (3), the ring (3) and the rods (6) disposed thereon are displaced aside, the movably connected articulated joints (S) of the rods (6) pivoting around the center point (O) also move during this displacing aside movement and thus the motion of one rod (6) pair is transferred to the other. Depending on the direction of the force applied on the ring (3), the center points (O) of the rod (6) pairs and hence the rings (3) to which they are connected are either getting closer to each other or moving iarther away and the movement mechanism (4) is respectively closing or opening.
[0025] When the holder (2) is desired to be changed to the closed position, a force is applied preferably on the ring (3) that is closer to the user. The ring (3) and thus the center point (O) by which the movement mechanism (4) is secured to the ring (3) moves away in the direction of this force. As a result of the center point (O) moving away, the articulated joints (S) of the rod (6) pair move and the rods (6) of the other rod (6) pair movably connected from these articulated joints (S) pivot around the center point (O) and their articulated joints (S) start moving. During this movement, the interconnected articulated joints (S) of both pair of rods (6) move closer to each other (the angle there between decreases). As a result of the adjacent articulated joints (S) moving iarther away, the force applied by the user to the first ring (3) is transferred to the center point (O) of the adjacent rod (6) pair and thus to the adjacent ring (3). These movements are transferred to all the rings (3) respectively by means of the movement mechanism (4). When the movement is completed, the rings (3) are at their closest position to each other. In this case, the holder (2) is in the closed position and is moved along the rail (5) it is assembled and can be carried to an unused place within the interior space, for example bearing on the rear wall. The opposite of the similar movements are made when the holder (2) is desired to be loaded. In this case, the distance between the rings (3) and thus the distance between the rod (6) pairs is at its maximum. Accordingly, the center of gravity of the bottle loaded on the holder (2) remains between the rings (3). Consequently, the holder (2) can carry the bottle safely (Hgure 2 and Hgure 3).
[0026] In another embodiment of the present invention, the rings (3) can be assembled to the rail (5) from a single point.
[0027] In another embodiment of the present invention, the movement mechanism (4) is connected to both sides of the rings (3).
[0028] In yet another embodiment of the present invention, more than one holder (2) can be moved together by being connected to one common movement mechanism (4).
[0029] By means of the present invention, each ring (3) constituting the holder (3) is connected to another ring (3) and brought to the open or closed position by the movement mechanism (4) that opens or closes with a scissor-like motion, preventing the holder (2) to occupy more space when not in use. Consequently, the holder (2) can conveniently be stored at the rear wall or under the shelf when in closed position such that a minimum amount of space is occupied.
