Description

SPARE FILTERING PLATE DESCRIPTIVE REPORT
Field of the Invention
The present utility model relates to filters for hood, exhauster and purifier, more particularly, to a spare filtering plate (SUBSTITUTE, ALTERNATE, ASSISTANT, AUXILIARY AND
SPARE) to retain saturated oils, purify smoke, retain smell from food, dust and other materials that go through devices of the hood, exhauster and purifier type, which feature exhausting motors and are used in domestic or industrial kitchens.
Invention History
Usually, exhausting hoods and purifiers provided with exhausters found in the market feature permanent filters, i.e., not replaceable filters, located under a grid with metallic profile in expanded or clipped aluminum, assembled as several superposed layers. However, such permanent filters require periodical washing, as the filter, when dirty because those particles accumulate between its layers from saturated oils, dust and other particles, i.e., because the user forgets the periodical maintenance, starts preventing air, smoke or gases from passing, thus impairing the operation of the purifying or hood devices exhausting motors, and preventing those components from leaving the environment. The metallic screens found in the hood or purifying type devices in the market do not retain the fat completely, as they are made of metallic material of the expanded aluminum screen type, featuring micro-perforations that may be observed when under light. This case does require a filtering sheet, to better meet that requirement, providing longer life to mechanical parts, motors and turbines of the exhausting devices, which impregnate with saturated oils, sometimes solvable only with chemicals. Such mechanical parts, such as the motors, are already armored when supplied by their manufacturers, making the user to get to them whenever any internal cleaning is required, either within the warranty period or not.
Along the permanent screen daily use process it may also be observed that the aluminum oxidizes, or the steel turns yellow, due to natural effects or to the use of detergents or chemicals required for
periodical cleaning. By that process, the washable metallic screen aging process becomes more evident, when compared to the equipment itself, which is still new, but having apparently old and worn screens.
The washable filtering screens currently offered in the market as permanent, as described in several manuals for residential hoods, exhausters and purifiers, are actually TEMPORARY SCREENS, offering only a longer period before needing replacement, but having high replacement cost and no convenience for the users.
Nowadays, several models of hood, exhauster and purifier, with the intention of offering more and more design to the users, are also coupling lights into the washable filters, making that easy replacement process even more difficult, in addition to the risks.
Said utility model invention spare filtering plate also observes the possibility of bad internal drying upon mandatory washing of filters, which is already a problem due to the superposed layers of those filters. As it has already been warned in several manuals by residential hood, exhauster and purifier manufacturers, electrical conduction may also occur.
BASES OF TBE INVENTION
It is, therefore, one of the objectives of the present utility model, to provide a low cost spare filtering plate meeting the existing need of REPLACING or becoming a spare product for the filtering assembly of the exhausting devices, instead of washing them periodically. Another objective of the present utility model is to provide a spare filtering plate to retain saturated oils, dust and other solid components without interfering in the hoods exhausting motor operation and without preventing smoke, odors, air and other gases from leaving the environment.
Said invention spare filtering plate, in addition to retaining saturated oils, dust and other solid components without interfering in the hoods exhausting motor operation, also ensures simple and advantageous installation, and any user, even if having movement or visual difficulties is able to install it, as THERE IS NO bolting, locks, latches or pin connections.
Said utility model invention spare filtering plate, in addition to being easy to hold, also does not require any design change, neither requires technical adaptations in the residential or industrial hood, exhauster or purifier device. Thus, the user may use the original washable metallic components again, whenever he wishes so. The user is free to choose which position best suits him, aiming at the best cost-benefit relation for him, without being imposed.
Said utility model invention spare filtering plate is a REPLACEMENT for conventional metallic filtering screens, intended to retain saturated oils, dust and other solid components, in such a way to ENSURE better advantages and free will in that process.
Said utility model invention spare filtering plate, in addition to meeting all the technical requirements more effectively, also uses a filtering sheet, which increases the useful life of hood, exhauster and purifier motors and turbines, as well as is concerned with meeting the specific requirements of each user, not considered in the already existing processes. Those user requirements could be no time for performing required and mandatory washings for equipment maintenance, losing the manual, difficulties upon handling (elders or people with motor or visual syndromes to whom the fitting lock element represents difficulty), also no need for the use of washing fixtures or utensils, such as containers for soaking, cleaning brushes, dishwashers, or even concerning people with chronic allergies to cleaning products indispensable for washing the original washable filters for hood, exhauster and purifier existing in the market.
Said utility model invention spare filtering plate lasts 30 / 60 days on the average, depending on each user flow, without changes or cleanings, and after its complete saturation, it may be partially recycled.
Another important factor of said utility model invention spare filtering plate is its safe physical shape, as there are no sharp ends, and it is composed of light and soft material, non-alterable, due to its features of polymers resistant to high temperature, they do not cause scratching or perforations in conventional or ceramic stoves in case of accidental fall. Additionally, most of its components, including the frame and the filtering sheet do not propagate and are insulated from fire, are nontoxic, prevent microorganisms proliferation and do not generate volatile substances.
The advantageous utility model invention - spare filtering plate, is intended to best suit the user both concerning safety matters and special care with residential or industrial hood, exhauster and purifier devices, which satisfactorily retain saturated oils, dust and other solid components, and also free him from periodic maintenance, without requiring mandatory washing, simply being REPLACED in a SAFE, PRACTICAL, ECONOMICAL AND FAST way

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT MODEL
The new spare filtering plate constructive arrangement utilizes a filtering layer composed of geotextile material, woven and non- woven (3), and a profile (5) made of plastic material or not, in PVC (polymers) and ABS (Acrylonitril Butadiene Styrene), provided with magnetized points (6) (Neodymium Iron Boron), to hold by approaching to the exhauster-type devices, as it may be observed on figure 5 and in its utilization on Figure 1 and 2.
Said spare filtering plate as seen on Figure 3 comprises a condensed cellulose plate (2), with oval or non-oval orifices (3), covered and/or laminated with a metallic or non-metallic film (1), preferably, with a biaxially oriented polypropylene film, known as BOPP or PP (1). The utilization of that material to coat the grid (3) enhances the durability of the spare filtering plate (7) and (8), shown on Figure 1, due to its non-degradation properties when submitted to high temperatures, which may reach up to (13O0C). The filtering material layer (4) is composed of non-fire-propagating, woven or non-woven, geotextile material. This filtering material (4) provides better operation and/or output to exhausting motors, as, despite of effectively retaining the solid particles, such as saturated oils and dust, it allows free passage of smoke, odors, air and other gases, ensuring more effective separation of the materials involved. Additionally, the utilization of this material as a filtering layer provides longer durability, advantageously extending the useful life of the plate in the present invention, when compared to other materials used in existing filtering layers, which require periodical washing.
The present invention spare filtering plate is well represented on "front and back" view (7 and 8), featuring a grid (3), provided with a profile (5), which may be magnetized (6), the profile may also be composed of metallic or non-metallic material, such as plastic, PVC, ABS (polymers). This may have metallic points susceptible of magnetic attraction (6) to hold the plate to the purifiers or hoods. Thus, the use of magnetic holding (6) for the spare filtering plate poses significant advantage, providing easy plate replacement to the user, as it does not require the use of tools or fittings, latches, locks or pins. Additionally, this simplified contact holding device (6), in conjunction with the materials used, generates an easier to manufacture and less costly product.
Those skilled in the art will observe that the spare filtering plate in the present invention may have small changes without being out of the scope of the present utility model invention, such as the use of different holding points or changes in the size of the present plate, which may be sized according to the lower opening in the devices and different types of internal frames (9), to which the plate in the present utility model is intended to, and have different arrangements for the orifices or leaks (3).
