Abstract

The mechanism which can be applied to bicycles allows a more paying push on a pedal for the same strain. As to the structure, it consists in a crank hinged together with a lever fixed to the movement pinion, the whole thing revolving on an eccentric which enables it to climb over inactive points( dead points).

Description

Value-added pedal-crank, applied to bicycles.
The mechanism can be applied to any bicycle.
If you replace the crank only, opposite the chain wheel you can obtain a better exploitation of the push given both to the right pedal-crank and to the left one, achieving a significant added value.
The object of the physical principle of this mechanism is to climb over dead points (dead point S-I) yielding an added value. Such amechanism(simple, light, with low friction and easy to install) allows the two cranks, alternatively, to climb over the critical stages
(dead points) enabling the user to apply thrusts to the cranks in a constant way, without inactive times due to idle times and to attain a more constant, smoother , less alternate and so more profitable push on a pedal. Structural technique of the mechanism:
The mechanism, as above said, is needed to climb over dead points.
It makes use of a hard disc fixed off centre as to the axis of the central movement of the crank mechanism; the off-centre hard disc, housed in a guide of the lever, causes the oscillation of the pivoted lever in the arm fixed to the coupling by means of the pinion of the central movement.
The oscillating lever is the one equipped with the pedal which, thanks to the eccentric( placed as in the drawing) causes the cranks to alternatively locate over the dead points.
This mechanism can be applied to any crank mechanism.

Claims

1) Oscillating pivoted lever.
2) Arm fixed to the movement pinion.
3) Off-centre hard disc.
4) Anchorage plate between hard disc and bicycle frame.
