Abstract

The present invention includes methods and appartus for the reduction of excess polymeric flash ring during forming of an ophthalmic lens, in a area defined by a first mold part (102) and a second mold part (101) wherein during the formation of the ophthalmic lense a HEMA is formed and the HEMA ring and a greater adhesive force is generated on the HEMA ring by the second mold part than the first mold part.
