Description

"FIXING DEVICE FOR TUBULAR MOTORS".
DESCRIPTION
The present invention concerns a device for fixing tubular motors, of the type used for winding roller gates, roller shutters, box awnings, drop arm awnings or, in general, sun awnings or similar, to the frame of roller shutter boxes.
For the sake of simplicity, all the said types of roller gates, roller shutters or awnings are hereinafter referred to using the common definition of sun protection elements.
It is known that for winding said sun protection elements electric motors are often used, whose shafts set the winding device rotating in order to make the operation less difficult for the user.
In particular, said motors, once operated through an electric remote control connected to the motor via radio or via cable, cause the rotation of a tube to which the protection element is attached. The motors are generally of the tubular type, being arranged inside the winding tube of the protection element, and are attached to the frame of the box containing the protection element via coupling means.
They generally comprise a stop switch and an automatic stop device that must be adjusted visually during installation. Said coupling means, therefore, must be easy to reach and ensure attachment of the tubular motor to the frame of the box in the most suitable mutual angular position.
Different devices for fixing a tubular motor to the box are available on the market, all featuring a first element associated with the motor and constrained to a second element associated with the box in a single position.
The adjustment is successively carried out by changing the coupling between the winding tube of the shutter and the shutter itself.
These embodiments pose a drawback represented by the fact that the above mentioned coupling is difficult to adjust and furthermore are often too large, which makes it necessary to provide for rather large boxes compared to the size of the protection element.
A further drawback lies in that said adjustments are in any case limited.
To overcome the drawbacks mentioned above, different devices for fixing a tubular motor to the box have been developed, in which the first and the second element can be coupled to each other with different angular positions. - 7 -
These last known embodiments, though overcoming the drawback represented by the difficult adjustment of the angular position of the motor with respect to the box, however are still excessively large.
In this regard, patent number EP 0 468 925 B1 discloses and protects a device for fixing the tubular motor to the box that is such as to ensure the coupling of the two elements of which the device is made up in different angular positions and is particularly compact because the two elements feature a male and a female profile that fit into each other.
Nevertheless, said embodiment poses a further drawback, lying in that the fixing means that join the two elements are difficult to reach.
These, in fact, are constituted by a ring that embraces the device for fixing the tubular motor to the box in such a way as to fit in a series of slots belonging to the two elements mentioned above.
Said ring is manoeuvred by means of a shaped part present on its circumference.
Since the device has been designed to reduce the space present between the roller shutter and the wall of the box, it poses the drawback that the fixing ring is difficult to reach and that the operators are obliged to use hooks or pliers to reach the shaped part used for manoeuvring purposes. The object of the present invention is to overcome all the above-mentioned drawbacks typical of the known state of the art.
In particular, it is a first object of the present invention to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to the box of a sun protection element that is particularly compact and occupies little space. It is another object of the present invention to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to a box that allows said motor to be fixed in different angular positions.
It is a further object of the present invention to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to a box that, though having limited dimensions, can be easily manoeuvred to mutually fix/remove the tubular motor to/from the frame of the box.
The aims described above have been achieved through the construction of a device for fixing a tubular motor to a frame according to the contents of the main claim, to which the reader should refer for the sake of brevity. The other claims refer to details of the fixing device that is the subject of the invention.
Advantageously, the male and the female profile that fit into each other and belong to the flange and counterflange that make up the fixing device make it possible to fix the tubular motor to the wall of the box occupying a limited space.
Still to advantage, the flange and the counterflange are connected to each other through interference means arranged in a secant direction that cuts their bodies, which thus become easier to reach for manoeuvring purposes than the known devices. Still advantageously, since said interference means can be constituted by one or more pins, the shaping of said pins can be carried out so that the pins can be easily manoeuvred with the hand fingers and therefore there is no need for hooks, pliers or the like. The aforesaid objects and advantages, and others that are described in greater detail below, will be highlighted in the description of preferred embodiments of the invention, provided here as non-restrictive examples, with reference to the attached drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is an exploded view of the fixing device that is the subject of the invention; - Figures 2 to 6 show several details of the fixing device shown in Figure 1. The device for fixing a tubular motor M for winding a protection element S inside a frame T is represented in Figures 1 and 2, where it is indicated as a whole by 1 and where it is possible to see that it comprises:
- at least one flange 2 fixed to the frame T and provided with coupling means 3;
- at least one counterflange 4 provided with housings 5 for receiving the coupling means 3 when the flange 2 is associated with the counterflange 4;
- at least one electric motor M fixed to the counterflange 4 and having the shaft A operatively connected to a tubular element E with which the protection element S is associated.
According to the invention, the counterflange 4 is removably fixed to the flange 2 via interference means 6 arranged so that they pass through a slide channel 7 that crosses the bodies 8 and 9 of the flange 2 and of the counterflange 4, respectively, according to a secant direction X. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention described herein, the slide channel 7 comprises a pair of through holes 10, 11 made in the side surface 12 of the counterflange 4 and spaced by one of the housings 5. The slide channel 7, furthermore, comprises an undercut area 15 facing the flange 2 and defined in the coupling means 3 mentioned above. The latter comprise a plurality of shaped projections 16 substantially perpendicular to the plane defined by the flange 2 and suited to define a female profile, the undercut area 15 mentioned above being defined in said projections 16. In particular, in the preferred embodiment of the invention described herein, the shaped projections 16 define, as shown in Figure 3, equidistant points of a circumference and, as shown also in the sectioned detail of Figure 4, are all substantially in the shape of an upturned L in which the lower surface 20, facing the flange 2, of the short side 21 of said upturned L constitutes the undercut area 15 mentioned above. As regards the counterflange 4, it has a first end 22, opposite the second end 23 where there is the tubular motor M, shaped in such a way as to comprise at least the housings 5 mentioned above and in which it is possible to identify a male profile suited to be coupled with the female profile defined by the shaped projections 16 of the flange 2. The flange 2 and the counterflange 4, to advantage, can thus be coupled in angular positions selected among one or more possible angular positions. In particular, in the embodiment described herein the counterflange 4 comprises:
- at least one first element 35 with cylindrical development, associated with the tubular motor M;
- at least one second element 36 substantially in the shape of a disc and associated with the first element 35, and defining, at its first end 22, the male profile described above.
As to the interference means 6, they comprise at least one pin 26 that, according to the preferred embodiment of the invention described herein and represented in Figure 5, is constituted by a shaped element 27 that is substantially filiform and closed in itself. At least three different sections can be identified in said shaped element 27:
- at least one first section 28, substantially rectilinear and suited to be introduced in the slide channel 7; - at least one second section 29 having a curved shape, substantially like a U;
- at least one third section 30, mixtilinear, in which it is possible to identify at least two bends 31 and 32, with convexity facing the first section 28, spaced by a curved area 33 with concavity facing the first section 28.
As already said, on the side surface 12 of the second element 36 of the counterflange 4 there is the pair of through holes 10, 11 that define, with the undercut area 15 belonging to one of the shaped projections 16 present on the flange 2, the slide channel 7 for said pin 26. For the power supply of the tubular motor M, the device 1 of the invention comprises, as shown in Figure 6, a fairlead channel 40 consisting of a through hole 41 that crosses longitudinally the first element 35 of the counterflange 4 for a first section 42, and crosswise the second element 36 of the counterflange 4 for a second section 43. In practice, the operator fixes the flange 2 of the fixing device 1 to the frame T of the protection element S.
Successively, the user associates the protection element S with the tubular element E, in turn associated with the tubular motor M, and provides for inserting said tubular element E inside the frame T. At one end of the tubular element E there is the tubular motor M, which in turn is constrained to the counterflange 4 of the fixing device 1 of the invention. The counterflange 4 is thus easily associated with the flange 2, already fixedly positioned in the frame T, since, to advantage, they allow for mutual positioning in any of the available positions, and therefore it is up to the user to select the most suitable position for installation.
Following the coupling of the counterflange 4 with the flange 2, the user provides for inserting the pin 26 in the slide channel 7, thus making the coupling stable. If during use of the protection element S problems or failures arise, the operator can reach the frame T and remove the protection element S by simply removing the pin 26 through insertion of a finger in the apposite space defined by the second U-shaped section 29.
For the reasons explained above, the fixing device that is the subject of the present invention achieves all the set objects. In particular, it achieves the object to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to the frame of the box of a sun protection element that is particularly compact and occupies little space, since the flange and the counterflange fit into each other reducing the space between the tubular element associated with the tubular motor and the frame wall. The invention also achieves the object to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to a frame that allows fixing in different angular positions thanks to the shape of the flange and counterflange, said shape being such that they fit into each other in a plurality of different angular positions.
The invention finally achieves the object to construct a device for fixing a tubular motor to a frame that, though having limited dimensions, ensures easy access to the fixing means between the tubular motor and the frame, said fixing means consisting of one or more pins that can be manoeuvred with the fingers of one hand.
Upon implementation, further construction variants of the fixing device that is the subject of the invention may be carried out.
These variants, although not represented and not described herein, must all be considered protected by the present patent, provided that they fall within the scope of the following claims.
Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference sings have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
