Abstract

A tamper evident screw cap and complementary container, each having two thread formations, one below the other, and each of different handedness, whereby rotation of the screw cap relative to the container for the purpose of the breaking of the seal and screw cap removal has the effect, using that thread engagement and/or contact furtherest from the outlet, of winding the tamper band of the cap further down the neck prior to frangible separation from the screw cap. There is a lost motion providing region integrally connecting said screw cap and said tamper band such region being as moulded or as modified post moulding. The tamper banded screw cap is adapted to bump fit the tamper band thread at least in part over its thread complement.
