Abstract

The invention relates to a quadricycle derived from the scooter with much improved stability and handling. This quadricycle is made up of a central frame (1) with the handle bar (2) and steered wheel (3) at the front, drive unit (5) and driving wheel (4) at the rear. At the front and on either side of the frame (1), two hinges (9d, 9g) form the fixing points for the foot rests (7d, 7g). At the rear and beneath the frame, the foot rests (7d, 7g) are supported by adjustable stops (6d, 6g). The rider stands on the foot rests, and the load is distributed between the four wheels (3, 4, 8d, 8g). The distribution of the load between the four wheels can be modified by varying the height of the stops (6d, 6g). The drive unit and brake controls are on the handle bar (2). The invention is particularly suitable for urban travel because of its stability and handling, qualities which will be found reassuring to everybody.

Description

TROTΠNETTE MOTORISÉE ÉQUIPÉE DE DEUX REPOSE-PIEDS OSCILLANTS, POURVUS CHACUN D'UNE ROUE MOTORIZED TROTΠNETTE EQUIPPED WITH TWO OSCILLATING FOOTRESTS, ALL EQUIPPED WITH ONE WHEEL
The present invention is a motorized scooter equipped with two oscillating footrests, each provided with a wheel.
The classic scooter is unstable, moreover it is difficult to control at high speed. The maneuvers of avoidance and braking are delicate which induces many accidents.
The device of the invention generates greater stability and increased handling. On the basis of a classic motorized scooter (thermal or electric) footrests equipped with a wheel are placed on each side of the frame, they are fixed by hinges located at the front of it. This device allows a vertical oscillation of the footrests. Shocks at the hinges keep the footrests in the down position. Adjustable stops at the back of the frame limit the movement of the footrests downwards.
On this four-cycle the driver places his feet on the footrests, not on the frame as is the case with a scooter.
At rest the footrests are wedged in the stops, their wheel is in contact with the ground, the four-cycle is balanced on its four wheels.
In bends, when tilting the machine, the inner wheel is in contact with the ground, while the outer wheel is lifted because the footrest is lifted by the abutment when tilting the frame.
Depending on the height of the stops, the load on the frame can be increased or decreased, the distribution of the load is flexible. A high stop induces an elevation of the wheel of the footrest, the load will be greater on the wheels of the frame for better traction. Conversely if the stops are low the load moves to the wheels of the footrests for better stability.
This quadri-cycle will have a varied use depending on the modifications made to the frame or to the cycle part. From urban, recreational or professional (courier) use to sporty use by reinforcing frame and tire.
L'emplacement du moteur (5) et des butées droite (6d) et gauche (6g) à l'arrière du cadre (1).The accompanying drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 represents the machine seen from the side. Figure 2 shows the machine seen from above. Figure 3 shows the machine seen from below. Figure 4 shows the vehicle in a rear view bend. With reference to these drawings we distinguish the frame (1) with the handlebar (2), the steering wheel (3) and driving wheel (4). The location of the motor (5) and the right (6d) and left (6g) stops at the rear of the frame (1).
The footrests (7d, 7g) equipped with wheels (8d, 8g) are connected to the frame (1) by hinges (9d, 9g) towards the front. The view from below shows the stops (6d, 6g) on which the footrests are wedged (7d, 7g)
In Figure 4 we can see the displacement of the footrest (7d, 7g) relative to the frame (1) during the inclination of the machine. The inner wheel (8d) remains in contact with the ground while the outer wheel (8g) is raised.
