Description
PLASTICS MATERIAL FOLDABLE ADVERTISING PANEL
The present invention relates to the advertising field and more particularly the field of posters or displayer as self-supporting panels, used with hall or box-office of theatres or cinemas for advertising new films or movies of theatre shows, mainly by reproduction of scenes and actor images.
At present, this kind of displayer are comprised of paperboard, realised by coupling a plasticized paper print and an undulated paperboard support plasticized on both sides. Since sizes can be huge, paperboard panel is provided with a prearranged folding line, in correspondence of the horizontal central line, in order to reduce, during the transportation of the same, its vertical sizes.
To maintain the displayer in a vertical position, paperboard strengthening elements are glued on its hidden surface, said strengthening elements being provided with foldable flaps that, once open, support the panel preventing its falling.
However, present solution does not fully satisfy those working in this field for many reasons. First of all, it is easy that during the transportation and mounting of the panel, paperboard, also easily inflammable, is buckled, or curved, thus deteriorating whole aesthetic appearance. The same folding line is often seen from outside, thus interrupting continuity of reproduced image.
Further, solution providing rear resting flaps requires long manufacturing and mounting times.
Moreover, known solutions providing paperboard support supporting paperboard can be seen and thus are unaesthetic.
Object of the present invention is that of avoiding said drawbacks, proposing a displayer particularly suitable for cinemas and theatres, comprised of a plastic material panej, preferably comprised of polypropylene, provided with prearranged folding lines, permitting folding it during transportation, without any visible sign on the visible surface.
Particularly, said folding lines are one horizontal line, dividing the panel at half, and two vertical lines, each one provided at the same distance from the lateral ends so as to realise terminal flaps comprising two resting making panel stable when it is in a vertical or inclined position.
In order to maintain two flaps in a folded position, one or more transverse elements are provided, coupling each other their ends.
Another meaningful advantage is th\at print of images of the panel can be realised directly on the same panel (by the same plane machines usually employed for printing on paper) or, as alternative, on sheets to be then glued on the exposed face of the panel. Still another advantage is due to the fact that propylene displayer has very good features of resistance to heat.
Another advantage of the panel according to the invention is due to the fact that, with the supporting flaps, panel is substantially uniform with the wall. Specification of the invention will be more easily comprised making reference to the enclosed drawings representing an illustrative and not limitative embodiment thereof. In the drawings: figure 1 shows a section of the plurality of channels comprising inner structure of a panel; figure 2 shows incision realised in panel in section in the panel according to the invention; » figure 3 shows the same panel of figure.2 partially folded; figure 4 shows fincature realised on panel; figure 5 is a front perspective view of the panel assembled; figure 6 is rear perspective view of the panel; figures 7 - 10 show different alternative embodiments for anchoring the rear transverse elements of the panel support flaps; figure 11 is a perspective view of a second embodiment of the panel according to the invention; figure 12 is an exploded view of a first realisation of panel of figure 11 ; and figure 13 is an exploded view of a second realisation of panel of figure 11.
Making reference to the figures, panel is comprised of a polypropylene alveolar standard rigid plate 12 realised by extrusion, not sensfble to atmospheric and chemical agents, and very resistant to heat, long lasting, and that can be printed on both sides. Material is very light and has a very good behaviour when folded: it is sufficient making an incision 10 on one of the in vista surfaces as in figure 2 in order to create a quite unlimited hinge effect without any breakage as shown in figure 3.
Said feature, along with the fact that plates can have large sizes, it is possible reducing the height folding them along the center line
according to the prearranged folding line indicated by reference number 14 of figure 4. Two more prearranged vertical folding lines 16, 19 permit obtaining two flaps 20, 22 in correspondence of the two sides, said flaps once folded inward and backward, realise a pair of supports maintaining standing panel without any needing of support structures.
In order to ensure maintaining of the maximum opening position it is provided possible use of one or more transverse elements 24, the ends of which, as shown in figure 5, are fixed on the same flaps. Coupling means can be of different type: Velcro®, bi-adhesive tape, and the entire most common coupling means use in the paper-making field, and shown in figures 7 - 10.
Observing now figures 11 - 13, it is shown a second embodiment of the panel according to the invention, providing applying a transparent sheet 30. said sheet 30 can have the same sizes of the panel 12, or it can have different sizes with respect to the panel 12 (in the figures it is shown for illustrative and not limitative purposes a sheet 30 having a height equal to the half of the height of panel 12).
In the solution shown in figure 12, LEDs 31 are provided on the portion of panel 12 on which sheet 30 is applied, while in the solution shown in figure 13 LEDs 31 are applied directly on transparent sheet 30.
LED 31 are supplied by supply mains or by batteries or by solar panels.
A decalcomania 32, or other image support, is applied outside said sheet 30, bearing image that will be backlit. The same image can e also realised directly on sheet 30.
Coupling between sheet 30 and image 32 on panel 12 can occur, as shown in figures 12, 13, by screws, or similar systems (not shown).
The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
