Abstract

Recombinant fission yeast cells and methods of using them are described, which provide for identification of chemical inhibitors or activators of a target exogenous phosphodiesterase (PDE). The yeast cells can be transformed using a cDNA library to identify biological inhibitors or activators of PDEs from specific cell types.
